Yeah right. Joe Jackson is full of it. He was on Larry King yesterday and told the whole world that he didn't abuse Michael as a child. If he didn't abuse Michael then why did Michael say in every interview he did that his father beat him. He said that his father would be standing in front of them with a belt and if they missed their steps he would hit them with it or whatever was around. He even said that the sight of his father made him sick or he would faint. Michael wouldn't lie about that. He would be close to tears anytime he would talk about it. What kind of father makes their kids call them by their first name instead of dad?
I'm sorry but I have never liked Joe. I know Michael said that even though he was angry at his father, he loved him because he made him who he was. He was his father and he did what he did because he wanted his boys to succeed. Yes, they did succeed but did the end really justify the means?
"Everyone hit thier children back in those days." -Joe Jackson
I have to disagree with that. Not everyone beat their children in those days. I'm not saying you shouldn't punish a child by spanking but to hit them with a belt or some other object? That's wrong. In this day and age, that is child abuse. Joe can spin it any way he wants but he beat his kids.
I was abused by my father for years so I know what abuse is.
Here are a couple of links to that interview. Most of you have probably watched this but I wanted to put my two cents in and gets some feedback on how others felt.

He'll never learn. Hey, he cashed in on Michael when he was alive, so why not now that he's dead?

Duh, of course he's gonna lie about it! Joe Jackson is like, the one everyone has it out for right now, so yeah he's gonna try to vindicate himself... UGH! It just makes me sick to my stomach, the whole thing.:(

At about 0:45 of the Larry King clip, did Jackson say the word "s**t"?

King asks him if Michael's kids are going to go into show business, and Joe says that "...they like to watch movies and things and that s**t, and they watch hit TV shows and stuff, you know... "

Did I hear that correctly?

It figures that he would deny beating Michael. That's really sad, but he has his reputation to think of I guess. I don't know how his relationship was with Michael's siblings, but it would be interesting to hear what Janet and the others think about this. I've never heard Michael talk about his dad (never really seen any interviews with him), but it must have been hard to talk about his father's abuse. Abuse doesn't have to be physical either. Words can hurt just as much if not more.

LaToya has said back in the '90's that he would sexually abuse the girls. She was saying once he went into Reebie's room late at night and she could her mom saying "Not tonight Joe, let her rest, she's tired." Now I don't know if she was telling the truth or not because the first child molestation charge she was saying that Michael was guilty and then she got a way from her controlling husband and said he told her to say certain things about her family. But somehow, I believe the Reebie incident.

I can't stand him! He even has a daughter from another woman while married to Katherine. He's a punk. :barf:

I didn't see him on LKL. But I wouldn't believe anything he says. I read about the daughter he has with another woman a couple of years ago in an article. I wouldn't be surprised if he had more kids from affairs.

Apparently that incident really affected Michael. He couldn't believe his father would do that to his mother. That's what caused him to become more isolated later on. Why do you think he was so afraid of sex for all those years? It wasn't because he was gay, it was because his father cheated on his mother. Michael had never been really close to his father, he loved him but he didn't know him like a son should know his father. It's sad really because Michael was such a shy, sweet person. He was really close to his mother. I saw the kind of relationship they had and was really very nice. It's hard to believe that Michael was Joe's son because they were so different. Michael may have gotten Joe's musical talent but that is where the similarities end. Why do you think he got so many nose jobs? His dad use to tease him about having a big nose. What a punk.
That is why he was such a good father to his kids, he didn't want them to go through what he went through. Good for you, Michael. Now that you are gone your children only have good memories of you. They will remember what a good daddy you were and how much you loved them. That's something to be proud of. :D

Not only is he full of it, but I'm willing to bet a large sum of money he beat all the others as well.

I remember reading various articles that Joe beat the other boys more than Michael.

We all know he beat Michael and his brothers. And he said his grand children should do what children do. He should also have let Michael and his brothers have a good childhood.
