Roseanne was on Oxygen yesterday and today from like 9am-3:30pm, then TV Land all night. It's really ridiculous  I had totally forgotten that Oxygen shows it all day once or twice a week.

In other news The N is not becoming TEENick after all. It was announced today the network will be called simply Degrassi. Also NBC Universal is discussing changing the name of USA to NCIS.

I do believe Hallmark is becoming the "Golden Network." Heck, 6 of their 19 hour days are The Golden Girls! Or maybe the "Touched By A Golden Girl" Network...

VH-1 can become "The Skanky Reality Show" network.

CNN can become "MJN" (Michael Jackson News).

Oxygen can become "The Tori and Dean" network.

WE TV can become "The Bridal Drama Network"

A&E is "The CSI Miami" Network.

Honestly, for all of the Roseanne, it isn't fair. I have never seen the TV Land boards in such uproar (well, I'm not helping  ) as they are about all of this Roseanne. It's not necessarily the show as much as it is the amount of time it is on. If they want to air it 2 hours a night, fine, but 8pm-4am some nights is absolute insanity.

Roseanne is a great show but over the past 20 or so years I've seen the episodes enough times in the original runs and the repeats that I have them memorized. I think it's time to put Roseanne away for a while so the DVDs can sell and rerun viewers can catch a breather. Same thing can be said for Saved By The Bell and Fresh Prince.

I can understand what you mean about Roseanne and Saved by the Bell, but The Fresh Prince has two seasons that aren't available on DVD. I know I still watch those seasons every once in a while when they are aired. I wish they'd just release a set with both seasons! I Don't care how bad the packaging is, I just want them.

but to be fair anytime CBS has tried to air a show for the younger audience it has failed miserably. Remember in 1993-1994 when they aired shows like Dweebs and Central Park West? Poor CBS whenever they stray from the ususal they got low ratings. It took them years to recover from that.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous! TVLand is still showing Roseanne for four to six hours per night. They have to have gone through the entire catalog by now don't you think? When is it going to stop? Please, please show something else!

How about Bewitched, CPO Sharkey, anything ??? !!!

I posted this in another thread too! Something has to be done!

That's exactly why CBS needs to just accept the fact that their shows pull in an older audience. It isn't doing them that much harm - they are by far the most watched network, just with a lower demo:viewer ratio.

i feel bad for CBS because they take a lot of slack from critics about not being hip or younger enough but when they try to stray from their normal stuff it backfires. Look at the last few years with shows like Viva Laughlin, Worst Week, Eleventh Hour, Jericho, The Class, Moonlight and Cane. They were all supposed to be the younger hipper show that would bring CBS into this generation and yet they all failed miserably. and Worst Week had one of the biggest promotional campagins of the last season and one of the best timeslots and it couldn't attract an audience.

On the other hand they also have shows like How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang and 2.5 Men that tend to pull in numbers younger than the average CBS viewer.

I say CBS should worry about staying #1 and not try to alienate it's core viewership.

Counting tonight, TVLand is showing 49 hours of Roseanne in five days! It's not one of their marathons either. This is normal programming! 10 hours tonight. It is on from 8pm to 6am! UNBELIEVABLE !!! I hate this show. Even if I liked it before, I would probably hate it now! Please take it off or cut down the hours. They could cut the hours in half and it would STILL be the most shown program on TVLand!
