-How'd You Get So Rich
Premieres Wednesday, August 5 at 10PM
Wednesdays at 10pm ET/PT thru Sept. 9
Sure, the economy is in the tank, but like it or not, there are still millionaires out there -- and they didn't all get rich by stealing your money (thanks for nothing, Wall Street). They made their fortunes by inventing Billy Bob Teeth and Butt Paste. Enter Joan Rivers and her money-obsessed new show, How'd You Get So Rich?
We've all driven by lavish mansions and wondered, 'Who the hell lives there?' Rivers -- no slouch in the indulgence department -- leaves no stone unturned in getting to the story behind the moneybags who walk, or rather drive their Ferraris, among us.
Rivers is a titan of comedy and show business, unafraid to poke fun at herself or anyone (famous or not) who crosses her path. Because of this bravado, she's often been viewed as a polarizing force in the entertainment business. Watch as the ruthless funny lady pesters the mega-wealthy about how they made their fortunes -- and more importantly, how they spend it.
(Various encores will air throughout the week)
-Make My Day
Premieres Wednesday, August 5 at 10:30PM
Wednesdays at 10:30pm ET/PT thru Sept. 9
This comedic hidden-camera series provides a window into one day in the life of an unsuspecting participant. Tune in as cameras capture the action as they experience weird coincidences, extraordinary situations and surprise celebrity appearances for one whole day. “Make My Day” is a 30-minute series produced for TV Land by Embassy Row (“Power of Ten” and “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”), Monkey Kingdom and Sony Pictures Television. Michael Davies serves as the executive producer.
(Various encores will air throughout the week)

some good news for a change. All in the Family gets a timeslot upgrade and Beaver returns, I like that hour. And the Green Acres marathon is nice, too bad it's probably leaving. Will they still be off the clock?

Amazing - Roseanne is still airing throughout the night on weekdays. How is it keeping all these airings? lol. I just don't get it. And its the lead-in to their 2 new shows, and its gets Thursday primetime airings. And it gets a big marathon on the first 2 days of the month. From looking at things here, you'd think it was the highest rated show ever to hit TV Land. But since it isn't doing well, what is their excuse?
Interesting how they're putting MASH back in primetime Mondays, though.
Seems to me like Jeffersons will be gone. Not much else to say, though.
YES! Loving mornings!!! Sanford and Son then Beaver, I love that!  And EM:HE getting bumped back like that is fine with me.
From what I'm seeing, looks like Green Acres and Jeffersons are toast. What about M*A*S*H? I don't know whether to take that as a farewell marathon, resurgance, or what.

Good thing Green Acres will get a few *probably final* airings.
I like the 12pm hour a lot- hopefully it will last a while.
The only thing weird is that Andy Griffith is still not back on the weekday schedule!?!
Knowing how TV Land goes, this schedule will actually probably start in the next few weeks.

Overall even more Roseanne... sheesh.
So the originals move to Wednesday. Probably a good move.
Sucks to see The Jeffersons gone but not a big surprise.

Knowing how TV Land goes, this schedule will actually probably start in the next few weeks. They really must NOT want Andy Griffith back on the schedule. IMO, the last marathon of the month should have been all Jeffersons Saturday and all Acres Sunday. But I'm sure the schedule will be totally different by next month
The more I look at it, I bet they won't renew M*A*S*H. It does well but it's not the demo they want, and it can only air between 8pm and 8am. Remember all of the special treatment I Love Lucy got before it left? It's probably the same case here. Milking the contract for all it's worth before it expires, and they can get decent ratings in the process..
The people running this channel are incompetent hacks, and given garbage like Extreme Home Makeover in the mornings I'm baffled we even still give them time of day around here.

I can understand them wanting to move away from Andy Griffith at nights, but it seems like it would air at 12pm, 1pm, or 6pm (in place of Hillbillies or Little House or something). From what I've always understood it performs better than all of the other classics- so why not air it instead?
Is seems like M*A*S*H would be a rather costly series to only air for the most part on Sunday nights at weekdays at 5am.
Extreme Makeover at 9am translates in my head to....Paid Programming 6am - 10am. TV Land starts at 10am with Good Times.

I just don't get it. Roseanne has to be airing over 30 hours a week with this schedule, especially since its still airing 11pm-4am every weeknight. And with all the primetime airings, specials, marathons - I wish they'd give us a reason for airing it so much.

Will they still be off the clock?
Not as much as before. On the grids, really only Tuesday nights is off the clock.
As for EM: HE, it is not a garbage show, Seth. It does good for families, it just doesn't fit on TV Land. They need more similar shows like that for it to fit.
The Jeffersons and Green Acres are 99% not renewed from what I can see. If The Jeffersons were coming back, it would have been airing weekdays at 12:30pm with AITF. MASH will likely be renewed, but I'm not calling it yet.
And this schedule is a mess from 8pm-4am. Obviously they are not playing the ratings card with Roseanne and for some reason keep airing it. I think they are just treading water until September, where I expect major changes (heavy Roseanne reduction for one).

Are any new shows supposed to be pop before the end of the year? I thought TV Land had one or two new shows they were bringing to the lineup.
Home Improvement should be coming in September for one. If it doesn't, TV Land is out of their minds. Hopefully we'll also see some Married with Children in September. It fits good on TV Land.
I agree that it's a mess from 8-4. I don't really get the point. Roseanne must be doing well in the demo they want. Why are they waiting for Home Improvement? I bet we will see it come September, if not sooner. I also bet they will bring MWC back in September, or even before then. You know they've got to be doing something to get it because it was a hit, and that's what they desperately need.
That Monday M*A*S*H marathon is totally lost.

07-02-2009, 01:55 PM
I like the weekend marathons...but there are too many Bonanza ones! Cut two or so and replace them with All in the Family, Good Times, Three's Company, or Gunsmoke (the only main shows not getting one between July/Aug that TV Land can air during the day).
b&tcfan, what you said about M*A*S*H (cost) is exactly why I don't think they will renew. Like I said those seem like 'farewells' to me. What good does paying all of that $$ out to renew it do? I have a feeling that MWC will become a regular at night, Home Improvement will come, they aren't going to remove Roseanne and Cosby...where does that leave M*A*S*H? It does well, but skews old, rights are limited, they don't want it in primetime, and with those other shows likely taking primetime up, there's nowhere to air it outside of like 3-6am. I don't see how they can financially justify keeping it. I'm sure it's expensive.
Pavan, wouldn't Hallmark be losing rights at the end of August also since it's a joint deal? If TV Land didn't renew (I'm sure Hallmark would), that means they get full rights again correct?

Aaron is correct. TV Land has MASH until 8/31/13. They renewed the contract last August for another 5 years. It was never expiring this August. I knew something wasn't right when you guys were discussing MASH, because as far as I knew only GA and Jeffersons are up at the end of August.
Here is the list I have with various Viacom properties:
Renewed in 2008: Sanford & Son. Renewed in 2009: Leave it to Beaver
August 31, 2009

Friends
Wow, those are some contracts. I read that somewhere here about M*A*S*H, all I ever thought of before then was Acres and Jeffersons. It amuses me that Green Acres and The Jeffersons are leaving, yet Leave it to Beaver was renewed (and it hasn't even aired like The Jeffersons has at least this year).
Looking ahead I bet it is safe to say Star Trek won't be renewed and probably not The Brady Bunch and maybe Good Times. I would think not with JSM but maybe for Comedy Central.

Yecch! Even more of Roseanne! Nick-at-Nite, however IMO, is more worth watching now, since it no longer has that show. Family Matters is a good show when it isn't an Urkel cartoon, and George Lopez is usually pretty funny.

So, by looking at those contracts it seems as though when N@N discards Home Improvement and The Nanny, they will be coming to TV Land.
Home Improvement appears to be all but done on N@N so I would guess that would come to TV Land soon and the Nanny would come whenever N@N tosses it aside.
Could somebody please remind me when Friends will be coming to N@N and if That 70s Show is supposed to come to N@N and then TV Land or what is the deal with that? (It has to expire from FX first, I would presume).

Friends was originally acquired for Nick@Nite, but didn't we establish a while back that it was probably going to just go straight to TV Land? Viacom already has That '70s Show, it's airing on The N -- and is set to come to TV Land next year (if not sooner probably).
I forget when Viacom gets access to Friends.

But Family Matters was also a hit for NAN when it first premiered - now it'll be airing at 3am. I still don't get that one. NAN is another network that's starting to turn back to their hold habits again.
I doubt Friends will be coming to NAN. TV Land should get it, though. It could be the show that brings in the ratings for them.

Friends was supposed to come to N@N in September 2011, but I also would be surprised to see it there, it would fit much better on TV Land(being much more adult and not centered about a family like all of N@N's shows) and could finally be the modern show that does extremely well for them.

Some questions:
1) Is TV Land finally off the clock in August?
2) In addition to Friends, That 70s Show, and The Nanny, does TV Land have any other new acquisitions?
3) Will they go back to normal commercial breaks instead of rehacking the shows and going to commercial every five minutes (AND after the forty second intro)?

Some questions:
1) Is TV Land finally off the clock in August?
According to TV Land's online schedule, there is no more off the clock after next Wednesday. The schedule doesn't go into August yet, but out through July 26th no nights are off the clock(as in there is no half-hour missing, which is the case when it's off the clock, usually the 12:30am half-hour). Now this could always change, but that's what it says right now.
As for number 3, I doubt it. I think the commercial breaks are set unfortunately. I don't think it has anything to do with off the clock because even when it's on the clock they are still the same.

I don't see any of the shows expiring in 2010 being renewed except maybe The Beverly Hillbillies.
Sanford and Son's contract is thru 12/31/11 according to a post from TheLink at tvland.com. I'd love to know how long they renewed Beaver.
On another note, I don't get why they are starting this new morning schedule on 8/10? Why not wait till September after The Jeffersons has expired and keep it airing until then?

I love Good Times personally, especially the John Amos seasons. It has great writing and superb acting. It is probably my favorite of the Norman Lear series, although I don't necessarily think it's the funniest.

It is probably my favorite of the Norman Lear series, although I don't necessarily think it's the funniest.I agree! It's one of the only shows on TV Land I actually watch on a regular basis. TV Land has always had a knack for removing shows before they expire. I don't really understand why. The only show that wasn't like that was I Love Lucy. They aired it a ton at the end.
Leave it to Beaver is amazing. 11 years and they keep renewing it! I guess it's surprising to me because of all of the more-popular, more critically-acclaimed, higher-profile type shows that they've had over the years that haven't really lasted (Lucy, Bewitched, Dick Van Dyke, Jeannie, etc). Amazing!

Good Times has been on TV Land for about 4 years (Summer 2005). I think 7 years refers to its time on cable networks combined.
Overnights needs an overhaul the most, maybe TV Land should reduce Roseanne to 11pm - 1am and then do this:
1am/1:30am- 3rd Rock from the Sun
2am - 4am- Three's Company
4am - 6am- M*A*S*H
I too would love to see Three's Company in the morning block (along with Andy and Hogan's Heroes), why not do this....
9am- Extreme Makeover: HE
10am- Three's Company
10:30am- Good Times
11am- Sanford and Son
11:30am- All in the Family
12pm-The Andy Griffith Show
12:30pm- Leave it to Beaver
1pm-The Beverly Hillbillies
1:30pm- Hogan's Heroes
If The Jeffersons and Green Acres are gone, TV Land is down to 10 classic sitcoms- this would allow all of them to air together except M*A*S*H (which can only air 8pm - 8am) and The Brady Bunch (probably the least likely sitcom to return to the weekday schedule).
I think Three's Company only works well after 11pm, they always yank it quickly when it airs in the morning or afternoon. I bet they won't renew Good Times either next year.
In all actuality I bet nothing next year will be renewed except for maybe The Beverly Hillbillies.

I'm not surprised. I've actually been watching a bit lately since it's on right after Roseanne.
I never thought I'd say this  but I hope by August the whole schedule is overhauled. While I like next month's morning schedule, the rest is just a disaster. Do they honestly plan on keeping all of this Roseanne for over another month?? TV Land had its peak in 2005....it's just become a failure and joke now.

2005? Try the Fall of 2002-LOL
For real lol
I've had TVLand since December 2001, and only counting the last seven and half years, 2002-2003 was THE best.
Not counting airtimes, they had a huge variety in 2005....Bewitched, Jeannie, Dick Van Dyke, Green Acres, Brady Bunch, Munsters, Addams Family, Andy Griffith, Beaver, I Love Lucy, Little House, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Miami Vice/Simon and Simon/A-Team/Knight Rider, Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Good Times, What's Happening, Three's Company, Flip Wilson, Carol Burnett, SCTV, Cheers, Night Court, etc. Just liked that variety of shows more (for me) but they did have a lot of good ones in 2002 (the Screen Gems ones, in particular).
ANYTHING pre-2008 is better than now, lol.

2005 was a good yr for them. I confess I have bought a few infomercial products. I don't mind them if they are on a channel that doesn't show old tv shows or movies. But if they are on something I watch then I don't want them there. I do like the infomercials for the old 60's & 70's records cuz they show old clips of the singers and those are neat to watch & much better than the cd set they are trying to sell. I was around when they had the old shows & I'd rather watch re-runs of them a million times over & over than anything new they have out now...

We still pay the big bucks for the "privilege" of getting these infomercials. And did anyone notice a cable price reduction when TVL added 3 hours of that dreck per day? Or when they added 4 more minutes of ads per hour?
And when they go off the clock, (hey TVL if you're reading this) how about playing network versions rather than syndication edits (25 + mins. vs. 20 min.), still show all your ads, and just play fewer episodes?

The schedule is posted on their website through August 2nd... and they will go through almost every Roseanne episode between now and then. Tonight they are airing Season 8 episodes, and on August 2nd(after 3 nights of nearly all night marathons), they will be in Season 7 which just finished a couple of days ago. and they aren't skipping episodes this time, they are going in order(Season 9 airs this weekend and Season 1 starts next Monday again). That's just nuts. Around 200 episodes in 4 weeks. Oh and no off the clock after this Wednesday Night is listed!
I'm a huge Roseanne fan but this is just too much.

And the reason is still unclear. I don't get it either.
It's sick. Tonight it's 10PM-4AM. One night it's 8PM-4AM. This is beyond anything they have ever done with the westerns, Andy, or M*A*S*H. It's insane and not fair to the fans of the other shows they have.
They're going to run out of plays at this rate, lol. Have they encored any of the episodes, or are they airing different ones every night?
Off the clock means one more episode per night.

They encore the 2-4am episodes the next day, whenever it starts airing, it seems.

Most of the episodes encore either later the same night or earlier the next night(within 24 hours). The first three episodes tonight repeat from 2:30-4am. Tomorrow night all the episodes except the 8pm one repeat later in the night.

This has to be the greatest TV Land mystery of all time. The show is obviously failing (heck, when Night Court launched, it did better and got a PR!) but is dominating the schedule more than any show ever on TV Land. The show had a full week to gain an audience, but it never built. I guess The Cosby Show is doing better (at least it did ok when it started) but it's not airing a ton. I am definately agreeing here that they are blowing through the plays for a reason. If it was doing better, they would be more careful.
Again I honestly don't think this will last until the end of August. They just need to bite the bullet and bring back Andy Griffith and M*A*S*H at night. Worry about demos once there are some decent ratings again.

Do we really know its doing that badly though? We dont have any ratings to base that conclusion off of. I doubt its doing as badly as you're saying - it must be doing moderately well for them, because if was doing that badly, they would not be airing it for hours and hours every night just to blow through airplays.

See, this is what I don't get. It's still airing in all of primetime Tuesday, and leading into SGTL on Thursday(which is obviously TV Land's top priority at the moment), and in August it'll be airing even more in primetime and leading into the originals on Wednesdays, not to mention it's getting these massive marathons that run all night once every few weekends. It has to be doing pretty well to get all that.

We saw how horribly primetime did (what was it, 527,000 viewers?? M*A*S*H got 1.2 mil) the week it launched, so that doesn't exactly look good. The only thing I can think of would be off the clock, but remember how the ratings pretty much plummeted the week it joined back in May when Andy Griffith was pulled, they had been getting around 800,000 viewers.
Guess I shouldn't say "failing", maybe a better way to phrase it would be that it's not likely it's doing well enough to warrant all of these airings.

But it is getting all those airings. It's getting more than all those airings-lol. I agree with Brent - Roseanne must be doing something well to be airing all that much in primetime and latenight. It's leading into their originals, which kind of is a big deal, and it's getting all those marathons, let alone the hours-a-night airings. Perhaps TV Land has given up on total viewers and is going for the demo now?

I wondered if it had something to do with MWC. It may air on TV Land in August then go back to Spike this fall knowing Viacom, lol. Or maybe they are just re-vamping the schedule. Hopefully there will be a reduction of Roseanne. It's funny, on 8/2 it just lists Roseanne at 5:00AM, no 5:30. This should be interesting.
Wouldn't be surprised if they go ahead and yank The Jeffersons a week early.

I definitely don't see another revamp happening, just a few schedule changes like Andy/Mash on Mondays happening. I'd like to see Married with Children back on, though.
OK, maybe not revamp, but I see more than just extending TAGS/MASH happening. The page probably wouldn't go blank for just a minor adjustment (it never has). It usually goes blank if there is a daily change made. Usually a TBD change at just, say 9am daily makes it go blank.
TVLand.com's boards don't have the August schedule posted yet. TheLink says they are making alterations/changes or something and that is why the week after next's schedule isn't available.

Monday 8/3 and the rest of that week is still blank. There is definitely more going on here than an alteration. I guess this means they aren't 100% sure and it hasn't been released or something. Hopefully they'll update it this afternoon.

I am ready for that All in the Family/Beaver combo at noon, but I don't know if I want to see it come early at the expense of losing The Jeffersons a week early.
I really think we will be seeing The Andy Griffith Show back on the weekday schedule (not just Mondays) very soon.

I agree. Just because nothing has been released doesn't mean they aren't working on something. When it goes blank, it means most of what was scheduled is no longer scheduled to happen. If it were a minor, one day adjustment, it would have just updated Monday like it did for tonight. They only take it down when there are significant overhauls.

"HOW'D YOU GET SO RICH?" STARRING JOAN RIVERS SCORES IMPRESSIVE GAINS FOR SEASON PREMIERE
PREMIERE OF TV LAND PRIME'S NEWEST ORIGINAL SERIES DELIVERS DOUBLE-DIGIT INCREASES IN KEY DEMOS
New York, New York, August 6, 2009 -- Wednesday night's premiere of TV Land PRIME's new reality series, "How'd You Get So Rich?" posted double-digit increases in rating and delivery among Adults 25-54 and Adults 40-54 a well total viewers over recent levels. It also witnessed double-digit gains over its 9:30 p.m. lead-in as well as gains among women 25-54. The new series, starring the often outrageous and hilarious Joan Rivers, takes viewers on a journey to meet millionaires who worked hard and struck gold as she tours the most lavish and extravagant homes and introduces them to folks who made a lot of money in really interesting ways the way only Joan can.
According to Nielsen Media Research, "How'd You Get So Rich?" posted double-digit gains with a 0.3/333,000 among A25-54, up +29% in rating and +33% in delivery versus the prior 4 week primetime average. The network averaged 650,000 total viewers, up +16% over recent levels. Among the network's core A40-54 audience, the premiere earned a 0.4/203,000, an increase of +24% in rating and +26% in delivery over recent levels in primetime.
The premiere telecast posted increases among Women 25-54 over recent primetime levels, scoring a 0.4/197,000, up +37% in rating and +38% in delivery versus P4W primetime average. "How'd You Get So Rich?" experienced appointment viewing as it lifted +35% among A25-54 over its 9:30 p.m. "Roseanne" lead-in.
In "How'd You Get So Rich?," Joan Rivers discovers how some folks go from mowing lawns to living in lavish mansions, or from scrubbing toilets to collecting Bentleys. Rivers introduces viewers to the inventor of the BillyBob Teeth, who grew up dirt poor, to the pioneer of the Infomercial who peddles goodies like Obama coins and "Mr. Mardi Gras" who still lives in the same house as he did when he came into his riches, to a Telecommunications tycoon who built an empire by starting out going door to door selling cordless phones - all of whom made their money in the most unexpected and interesting ways.
"How'd You Get So Rich?" is a six-episode series from Mark Burnett Productions and Zoo Productions, Inc. Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and John Stevens serve as executive producers. Amy Rosenblum also serves as executive producer.

8/12 (early Wednesday) will be Three's Company from 2:30AM-4:30AM.

TVLand finally does something right with the All in the Family/Leave it to Beaver hour at noon and they go messing it up. Four preemptions for Family and three for Beaver in the next two weeks. All so they can encore their stupid reality shows a million times.

I agree with ya. They do need to dump the reality show stuff now!!!!
Well All in the Family isn't on because of a Make My Day encore. They seriously need to do these between 10:30-11:30AM so no shows will get off the line-up entirely (that would still give them one Good Times and one Sanford). Or even 9am.
I love this new morning line-up, just wish EM: HE would go away. It's already on CMT. But then again it fits with The Cougar and She's Got the Look I guess.
Tuesday, August 11th, Andy Griffith will air from 6-8pm (it wasn't listed as airing on this date). Make My Day follows at 8pm, then The Cosby Show. 6-8pm is an encore of tonight's 8-10pm episodes.
Interesting how Andy is slowly making its way back to the line-up. They need to just go ahead with the 7-9pm thing.

Married...with Children episodes 85-89 are on tonight. Then Friday it will be 90-93. After the Saturday marathon of episodes 90-102 (replacing Green Acres and Andy marathons), it will air regularly Tues-Fri from 8-10pm (Tues will be 8pm-12am, Fri will be 8-9pm) starting next week, heavily cutting Roseanne.
Yuck.
Why would they air The Beverly Hillbillies from 7-8pm instead of Andy Griffith? I would think TAGS does much better.

Good job by TV Land. Now they have Cosby Show, Married with Children, and Roseanne to make a good Prime lineup. It won't be an overdose of Roseanne any longer and hopefully Home Improvement comes soon which would make a great block of sitcoms that complement each other well.

I'm definitely glad to see Roseanne cut way back(I'm a fan of the show but it's been on so much I had stopped watching), and I'm glad to see MWC on at great hours more than once a week like in the past. I just wish they wouldn't make such last-minute changes. I also wish they'd get rid of off the clock(I thought they were going to?).
I wonder if MWC will stay on TV Land once it comes back to Spike on weekdays in late September. I certainly hope so since Spike will be airing it from 9-11am.
Looking through it, this is the absolute worst schedule this channel has EVER had. Not even any Andy Griffith this Saturday. Ugh. I have never hated them this much.
PLEASE, stop teasing us. Be a classic TV channel or be a recent channel. Choose between Andy Griffith or Married With Children. That's my complaint with them.

I agree. Their schedules keep getting worse and worse. They need to air more Green Acres before it goes off. Why can't they see they need to dump the newer stuff & show only the old stuff. MWC and Rosanne etc are perfect for Nick At Nite & that's where they should be. Reality shows, leave them to some other channel. We viewers are left with nothing to watch when the new shows or reality junk is on. Wish they had an RTN channel around here. Sigh...

Love Good Times, but wonder why? It must do really well- giving all the other options. Andy Griffith, Hogan's Heroes, Brady Bunch, Three's Company (encores), more Leave it to Beaver or All in the Family. Don't see this lasting long...unless they are just trying to burn off episodes and then dump the show?
I would have done AITF from 9-10am then Leave it to Beaver 12-1pm.

I noticed they aired 2 episodes last night rather than it and that was when I noticed it, Now looking at the schedule I can't find ANY airings for it anywhere.
I'm actually strangely interested in HYGSR. Only have 80 times a week to watch it.

For some reason I forgot to watch both last night, planning to watch them over the weekend. That's very strange, though. So they aired 2 new episodes of HYGSR last night? Make My Day must have bombed in the ratings, while HYGSR is still doing decently. So far I'm enjoying it, though. I didn't think I would, but like you said, it's somehow intriguing.

This intrigued me, so I checked TV Land, and there's not a single trace of the show anywhere. On the message boards, though, Link said due to production issues, the show was going on hiatus until later this year. Wonder what that means
How could it be production issues? They already aired a couple? of episodes and showed clips from each one (the person that had their day "made"), so they have to have them ready for air. So this means HYGSR will be finished by the end of the month I guess.
I've been finding the show interesting also, but I don't think it would be that great without Joan.

Yeah, I don't get the "production issues" excuse either. Perhaps there were some behind-the-scenes things we're not hearing? Maybe one of the participants had a problem with something.
There's only what, 2 more episodes of HYGSR left? They could finish it up next Wednesday. Maybe they're considering ordering more episodes? I agree - the show would be nothing without Joan. Her comedy really does it for me. This is one TV Land original I'm enjoying, though, so hopefully we'll see more of it.
Does anyone remember how many episodes of HYGSR were ordered? I think they usually order 6?....if so, this week should be the finale, but I don't see them advertising that, just 10 and 10:30PM.

Yep, only 6 episodes were ordered. Either this show is repeating very well or they're trying to stretch it out until September (probably a combination), but this week's episodes Wednesday at 10pm are both repeats - episode 1 and 3 are being repeated it seems, according to the TV Land schdedule.
Also, next Wednesday they're airing a new episode (episode 6) at 10pm then episode 4 at 10:30. Maybe it's a glitch in the schedule then, and maybe episode 5 is airing this Wednesday at 10pm? If not, I thought only episodes 1-4 aired so far. I wish we could get some clarification on this
I know. I can't find anything on this thread or the blog here about the airings HYGSR, or even the TV Land site.
Under the bug, it says "How'd You Get So Rich, NEW EP - WED 10P" so I would think it's airing a new episode Wednesday. However, the promos don't say if the 10:30PM is a repeat or new one.

Considering the TV Land schedule is wrong, then episode 5 (new episode) will air this Wednesday at 10pm, with a repeat of episode 3, presumably, at 10:30. Then next Wednesday would be the season finale, episode 6, at 10pm with a repeat of episode 4 at 10:30.
That makes sense. Then the next week will probably be repeats of #5 and 6.

How'd You Get So Rich is still slated to end Sept. 9 as planned.
Schedule since the Wed 10pm hour was fully How'd You Get So Rich:
Aug 19 - #104 (P) and #102 (R)
Aug 26 - #101 (P) and #103 (R)
Sept 2 - #106 (P) and #104 (R)
Sept 9 - #105 (P) and #101 (R)
As for Make My Day ... production issues? LOL. If that was the case why were the encores immediately removed after its Aug. 12 airing? I just bet it was removed because of low ratings.

I never knew they were airing the eps out of order. But, I guess that works. And with no press release or anything, I'm sure Make My Day must have bombed. Link says they are slated to bring it back in late 2009 - I'm doubtful that'll happen, though. HYGSR is a decent show, though, so hopefully it's still doing well for them.

Wednesday night’s premiere of TV Land PRIME’s reality series, “How’d You Get So Rich?” averaged nearly 800,000 total viewers for last night’s 10 p.m. telecast, making it the most-watched episode of the season to date, according to Nielsen Media Research. The telecast posted huge, triple-digit increases in rating and delivery among Adults 25-54 and Adults 40-54 in addition to total viewers over recent levels. It also witnessed gains over its 9:30 p.m. lead-in among A25-54 and double-digit gains among women 25-54. The new series, starring the hilarious and often outrageous Joan Rivers, takes viewers on a journey to meet millionaires who worked hard and struck gold as she tours the most lavish and extravagant homes and introduces them to folks who made a lot of money in really interesting ways – the way only Joan can.
Wednesday’s “How’d You Get So Rich?” installment posted a 0.4/426,000 among A25-54, up a whopping +150% in rating and +148% in delivery versus the prior 4 week primetime average. The network averaged 771,000 total viewers, up +117% over recent levels. Among the network’s core A40-54 audience, the premiere earned a 0.4/240,000, an increase of +153% in rating and delivery over recent levels in primetime.
The premiere telecast posted increases among men and women 25-54 over recent primetime levels. Among women, it scored a 0.5/247,000, up +109% in rating and +111% in delivery versus P4W primetime average. Among men the installment scored a 0.4/179,000, a triple digit increase of +218% in rating and +225% in delivery. “How’d You Get So Rich?” experienced appointment viewing as it lifted +8% among A25-54 over its 9:30 p.m. lead-in.

800,000 is not bad at all for TV Land. It's far above the primetime average, above what SGTL and The Cougar were doing, and not too far off from what High School Reunion averaged. Seems like TV Land finally has another solid original hit on their hands.
Like I've said, the show would be nothing without Joan. Had the other shows had a high-profile talent like Ms. Rivers, they probably would have done better. But Joan really DOES make the show good and the concept is a bit more interesting.

In the long-run, it is kinda sad. But, SGTL was a huge bust this season, and so was The Cougar. These numbers are finally something for TV Land to gloat about. And, they are up bigtime in overall total viewers. If they can continue going up, it won't look so sad.

And what the heck is TV land doing with putting on more Andy Friffith all the time? I know I mentioned this before but they're getting worse with it. I can't believe it gets such good ratings. More and more nights are taken over by that stinking Andy Friffith. It'll probably eventually be every weeknight again. How is this "PRIME" stuff? The show's fortysomething years old! TV land stinks!I'll take Andy Griffith any day over Roseanne, Married with Children, The Cosby Show, reality shows, and westerns. I wish Prime had never happened, TVLand was better when they were an all classics station.
