You're right - I'd totally forgotten about Rookie of the Year!! He also played a goofy relief pitcher in that flick. Fun movie...with a John Candy cameo!!

Kevin Yagher- Hellraiser: Bloodline
I have to say that I was actually quite pleased with Savini's remake. It is one of the best remakes that I've seen.
I also find it interesting to note that Yagher went under "Alan Smithee" due to his hatred of the film. Bloodline was also the last of the theatrical releases for Hellraiser.

This film was originally supposed to be directed by Stanley Kubrick, but he eventually dropped out and made Lolita instead.
I found some interesting trivia about this film regarding Brando as director:
- Marlon Brando's inexperience behind the camera was obvious on set. He shot six times the amount of footage normally used for a film at the time. He was indecisive and ran extremely overlong in getting the film finished. Paramount eventually took the film away from him and recut it.
- Marlon Brando would sit near the ocean for hours waiting for the waves to become more dramatic for his perfect shots.
- Marlon Brando's original cut of the movie was over five hours long.

That's a cute movie. :)
I read that none of those actors knew how to sing or play instruments and that Tom Hanks came up with all the music for the film. I thought it was just an amazing movie. The funny thing was his wife Rita Wilson is cast as a waitress and her outfit is pretty sexy! I've never seen her wear anything like that in another film, so I wonder if it was intentional!!!

I was too. I'm surprised Savini didn't do more directing, maybe he could have saved Children of the Living Dead

I never bothered with that one. I wondered that too but maybe directing "isn't for him".
He has done occasional acting here and there. He has appeared in a lot of horror flicks in recent years.

I actually have a bit of a connection to the Yaeghers. Jeff Yaegher (V, the pilot of 21 Jump Street) is a sculptor who works on monster model kits with my friend Gary, who paints the art for the boxes.

Savini is a good actor. He was really good in Romero's Knightriders.

Yes, Arnold's tv movie was Christmas in Connecticut (1992).
He also directed one 1990 episode of Tales From The Crypt and so far that's it.
