I Didn't like girlfriends, it was just very bad, the thing that comes to mind right away is comparsion is grown ups, that cancelled show that did so well, I Didn't like that show either, but at least it had a spirted performances by Jaleel White and the rest of the crew.

The theme song is sung by Angie Stone. She is an R&B singer who had a hit in 2000 with a song called "No More Rain in this Cloud. She was in the 70's rap group called the Sequence, and in an eighties group to early nineties group called Vertica Hold. They had a hit with a song called "Seems You're Much Too Busy". Actually Girlfrinds sucked in the beginning but the more I watched it the better it became. It is one of my favorite shows. Try it again!

I don't like this show because it replaced Malcolm and Eddie. And is it just me or is this show just a black version of Sex in the City, another show that I don't like.

I think the show "girlfriends is cool. It a good representation of the african-american community. There should be more show like this in TV history. They're are finally getting to the point were they don't make us as live & projects & deal drug! Thanks to UPN! I hope that they keep it going! Yes it is a black version of "Sex And The City".

I think that the show "Girlfriends" is cool. They are finally getting to the point were you don't see us always dealing drug, robbing or killing someone! We need more shows like this one in TV history w/ educated black people. There shouldn't just be the "Cosby Show" & "Living Single"!

Angie Stone sings the theme song to Girlfriends? I didn't know that. She was on a episode of Girlfriends as the woman who was Tracey's boyfriend manager i think. She was doggin Tracey at some movie awards show they went to when Tracey was riding in the limo with her man & Angie told her that they were gonna drop her off a few miles from the show so Tracey wouldn't make a appearance with him walking down the red carpet. Angie is ugly to me. I don't see how D'Angelo had a baby with her LOL.

This show is better than some of the other crap than UPN shows...trust me. This and Half and Half are the best shows on UPN. I actually like this show a little. The characters are amusing, and I like the theme song.

GIRLFRIENDS ios un-funny and annoying. I mean ... Why do most black sitcoms today have to constantly deal with sex and how many times a character has "done it"? It's stupid, not funny and dumb.
At least GIRLFRIENDS isn't as bad as HALF & HALF.
What happened to programs like THE COSBY SHOW? Now THERE is an awesome sitcom!

Well i ever gave the show a chance because all the girls to me are goofy-LOL. And the other reason is it's a female show.

I used to hate this show. I couldn't stand to watch it and to watch Joan (Diana Ross daughter) because her bugging out eyes scare me half to death.

now...needless to say....I'm addicted.

I think Girlfriends turned around when they put everbody in Joan's house. THats when I started liking the show.

Now I can't get enough.

Give the show a chance.

It really has some excellent writing and character development. It is noce to see black women in a positive light.

We just recently got UPN so i've been checking out there shows. and this past Monday, I watched there line-up.

The Parkers -- I must admit, i watch Moesha sometimes! and her friend is hilarious! and now i find out she has her own spin-off! this show had a few good laughs in it.

One On One -- It wasn't all that good but alright. The episode i watched guest-starred the daughter from The Parent 'Hood.

Girlfriends -- This had a few laughs in it, and it was better than i thought it would be. It's the most realistic show out of the line-up.

Half and Half -- Essence Atkins makes me laugh no matter what show she's in. Like 'Smart Guy'. Probably one of the only WB shows to make me laugh. she's pretty too. but Mona had the most jokes. "Stay away from the nicotine queen"

It is a good show, but the representation is not so good. Not all black women look like this. that is the only flaw I see!

I like all of the characters EXCEPT Toni Chiles! Ugh! She's soooo annoying! She's so arrogant, but she's UGLY as hell! All the other characters crack me up! Miya, Mya, Maiya, or however she spells it :lol: is cool, and I loved the episode when she found out Darnell was dating Laura from Family Matters! That was too good!

I don't think Toni is ugly, she just got big lips & she's a golddigger. Her & her white husband got back together last night.

I like all the characters but my fave is Lynn. I think we all the women on the show we know somone that is just like them. lol
