Not fathers day yet, but happy father's day dad! my dad's awesome, the sweetest dad ever. Couldn't ask for a better dad! did I say "dad" enough?

Hope all you dad's have a great Father's Day! My dad died back in 1992, so Father's Day has always been kind of bittersweet for me. My grandad is still alive; he's 98. And my mom is getting married next month, so I'll have a "new" stepdad, although I've known him since I was born. He went to high school with my dad!

^Sorry to hear about your dad, Andrea. But it seems that you really love this future stepdad of yours, so I'm glad to hear that your mom has found someone special to spend the rest of her life with. :D

As for my dad, I just love him.:D He does so much for me I can't even begin to appreciate. In fact, just the other day, I was up on my laptop late at night, and my server connection shorted out (it happens sometimes, it usually means our internet box needs to be rewired). I was in the middle of a chat, and ran to my dad, who was asleep, and begged him to get up and fix the internet connection. I was really pissed about it... and talked at my dad like any frustrated teenage girl talks to her father. I basically told him to fix it and stormed out. I went to listen to some music, and a few minutes later, he came into my room and said "Try it now." and it worked! He got out of bed to rewire the box so I could selfishly use my laptop at 3 in the morning.

My parents haven't always had the best relationship, and it has definitely helped me to see that neither one is perfect by any means. But I do love them.. both of them.. very VERY much!

Here's to you, Pops!

I know how ya feel, my Dad died back in 1981. It was five days before my 19th birthday. I never celebrate it anyway, most of the family have went their own way so we're not that close anymore.

I love my father more than any child could ever love their parent. He had a great work ethic, and his goal in life was to give his children a wonderful childhood, and he succeeded. My mother didn't work, and I loved that. She was there when I came home from school, and we had a hot dinner every night. My father would rent a vacation home for us in Maine or New Hampshire for a month every summer. He'd also rent another home so my mother's two divorced sisters and their kids could join us. My Dad would work all week and come up on weekends. That's the kind of man he was.

I was blessed with two wonderful parents. They've both been gone for seven years, and I think of them every day. I miss loving them, and I miss them loving me. Nobody loved me the way they did.

Happy Father's Day, Dad. I miss and love you.
