Also, haven't said much about this, but I'm going to see Lisa at Women of Faith in Seattle next month!! I guess since this is mostly a "girls'" event, though guys aren't necessarily excluded, should I wear a dress? :idea:

I don't know Steve M. very well, but I do know he has a vast knowledge for music, which I can definitely appreciate. I think Greg is an awesome guy, and I also respect his great knowledge of music, and his awesome threads over at the music board. Him and I are on complete opposite ends of the political spectrum, but I appreciate the fact that despite that, he has always been very cordial, and even friendly towards me. I definitely consider him a friend, and always have alot of respect for people who can put their differences with you aside, and be friendly with you despite those differences. We'll probably never agree with each other much politically, but that won't change the fact that I respect him a great deal, and see him as a friend. He's definitely a good guy!! :cool:

Actually, this may come as a surprise, but in the past few weeks I've begun to move a little away from where I've been politically and have seen more of where people are on the right. I'm not so far to the left as I once was. It's always good to have an open mind and understand the point of view of others, I've always wanted to have that civility with people who think differently in regards to politics. I'm having some big questions about our current administration, just like I'm sure a lot of people are. I think it's like a common quote some figure during the Reagan administration said, "Trust but verify." :nod:

'THE FUGITIVE'.
The 1960s episodic drama featured David Janssen as Dr. Richard Kimble, an innocent doctor falsely accused of the murder of his wife. After escaping a train crash en route to death row in state prison, he searches for the one-armed man he saw on the night of his wife's murder fleeing from his home. However, Police Lieutenant Philip Gerard is obsessively seeking Kimble, firmly convinced he is guilty and determined to send him back to prison and to certain death.
The two-part season finale in the summer of 1967, where Kimble at last confronted the one-armed man, named Fred Johnson (played by Bill Raisch), was the most-watched t.v. episode of its time, only to be broken later by the "Who Shot J.R.?" episode of 'Dallas' in 1980.

Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr., two main figures in the Civil Rights Movement:
Martin Luther nails his 95 Theses, protesting the Pope's decrees, on the door of the church at Wittenburg, Germany, in 1517, signalling the start of the Protestant Reformation:
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, leading pastor of the breakaway "Confessing Church" in Germany during the 1930's, who opposed the Nazification of the German state church during the Third Reich. He was hanged outside a prison camp in 1945 for his involvement in attempting to assassinate Hitler, a few short weeks before the Allies liberated the camp:
Dee Snider of Twisted Sister faces the Senate during the PMRC hearings in 1985 where he defends metal and condemns Tipper Gore for "character assassination" due to painting his band and songs as being "sexist" and
"violent":
Rob Halford similiarly defends the lyrics of Judas Priest during the trial in 1990 where the band was falsely accused of promoting "subliminal messages" in their recordings which allegedly prompted two young men to commit suicide nearly five years before. The band won the case and were acquitted:

Okay, the term may be a little outdated, but basically it was another word for
Christian metal back in the 80's, to counter the phenomenon of Black Metal popularized by "Satanic" bands as Venom (it was all a schtick, but a very convincing one to many), and true satanic groups as the Norwegian black metal bands such as Mayhem, Emperor, Immortal, and Burzum, who were actually involved in a wave of church burnings, murders and the like in the early 90's.
