Swimfan Movie= The Girlfriend?

This can also go under, 'Movies" but since this is a two way thread(meaning it could go in either Chit Chat- or Chit Chat-Movies), I'll just put it here)... It's a two way, because it's also about a books).:)

I read 'The girlfriend" by R.L. stine, and then I watched Swimfan. In The Girlfriend, a boy named Scotty cheats on his girlfriend while she is on a weekend vacation with a girl he just met. The girl thinks Scotty is her boyfriend and falls in love with him, not knowing that she was just a makeout buddy to fill in for his girlfriend, not an actual girlfriend. She stalks poor Scotty around and even breaks his fingers and kills his animals when he tells her to Fu...off. She even tries to hurt his sweet girlfriend, who had no idea what Scottty did behind her back. I forgeot the ending, but I think she(the 'buddy") ends up in a mental hopital.

In Swimfan, a boy has sex with another girl behind his girlfriend's back, and the girl does not know that she was just a one night stand, and stalks the poor boy because she thinks he is in love with her and is her boyfriend and even tries to drown his girlfriend....,. I wtched this movie once years ago, and don't remember much of it, but does this seem like The Girlfriend to you? Hmm....:confused:

I agree with you. I read The Girlfriend once when I was in the 7th grade. Swimfan came out when I was a senior in high school. I remember seeing it in the theaters with a friend it reminded me a lot of The Girlfriend. I remember telling my friend about R.L. Stine's book. Swimfan was also like a version of Fatal Attraction set in high school.

Swimfan was a kiddy version of Fatal Attraction.

Cruel Intentions was a kiddy version of Dangerous Liasons.

There was a time when they were doing a lot of those - I think it started when they rewrote "Emma" as "Clueless."

Should I really say, "Poor Scotty?":rolleyes: :confused: ;) Scooty was a creep who cheated on his girlfriend.:rolleyes: .... Hmm. But, i do feel sorry for him since the girl he cheated on with became obsessed with him and broke his fingers.......... Hmm, there's a lesson to learn from this guys....;) Sure, your girlfriend might not find out that you cheated on her, but the girl you cheated with may become a crazy obsessed bitch and stalk you around and hurt you.;)
