I'm STUNNED to find out that some people have added co-workers as friends on their facebook page and not realizing how that can hurt them in the long run. I would never add a coworker to my facebook no matter how cool we are, just does not make sense at all.

Past is fine but Present means that the people you work with can find out about what's going on in your outside life. Take them off now Monika-lol

I have a few past coworkers added on Facebook. I used to work with these people at grocery stores, real estate officers and floral shops. All the people I work with in my current job are in 40's and older. I'm not sure if any of them have a Facebook account.

Of course, I purposefully search in my company network for people at my store. I'm friends with a lot of people at my work, we're all pretty close, so my question would be "why would I not add my friends"?
Depends on if you're actually friends with them. In my case I am, so I did.

I guess I always had my outside life and work life seperate so as long as you watch what you say you should be ok. Me I prefer a coworker who is a friend not knowing so much about my life outside the job

Yeah, I usually go out and party with my coworkers so there's nothing really to hide, lol. However, would I ever add my store manager as a friend in facebook? absolutely NOT.

If I was friendly with them, I probably would.

I guess it depends on your situation. I'm pretty friendly with some people from work, so I have no problem adding them onto my page. But I do completely agree with Sol that you have to be REALLY careful what you say about work on your Facebook page. That's why I don't divulge my feelings about it on Facebook. To me, that's personal and private - plus I like staying ethical. :D

I have on myspace, no big deal. Don't know of any coworkers on facebook, or I'd add them too.

I don't have either one, but I would have no problem adding a co-worker if it was one of my friends.

Depends !! CoWorkers only, No Way! But if there's a Friendship beyond the Work, Sure Thing!

Depends. If we were friends beyond work sure, otherwise I like to keep work seperate from my personal life.

That's my feeling about it too.

I just wouldn't add a higher-up (general manager, etc.) to my profile. If the co-workers are peons like me, then fine.
