Has anyone ever lived in these kind of apartments? In case anyone does not know about these, they are apartments where they go by your income. They are nice, but there are some negatives about these places. Where we live, the people that run them are very nosy and they want to know all your business. They do inspections. You have to share storage space with your neighbor. Last year when we had to recertify for income, they wanted to know how much my mom made at her job. My mom doesnt live with us. They also walk by on the weekends just to snoop. Does anyone else here live in subsidized apartments?

I have never lived in one. My cousin and her step sister briefly lived in a subsidized apartment. But at the complex she lived a majority of the residents were people on SSID. Most of her neighbors were disabled and spent a lot of their time in their units.

My uncle lives in one. I'll tell you, his place is really nice. It's probably 12 years old. It's a decent size apartment with nice appliances. There's a pretty garden court as well as a community room in the basement, complete with a kitchen and rest rooms. People actually hold small weddings there. I live in a nice condo complex, but if I had to, I wouldn't mind living where my uncle lives. It's sunny and clean, and I think he pays $125.00 in rent. He's on SS disability. Everyone is there. Lots of elderly people which means it's quiet.
