Kelly McGillis, best known for playing teacher to Tom Cruise in "Top Gun," has confirmed long-held rumors that she's a lesbian, according to an interview on the website shewired.

When asked if she was looking for a man or woman, she said her next partner would 'definitely be a woman'.

She added: 'I'm done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. It's a part of being true to yourself. That's been a challenge for me.'

Good for her for coming out. I've always enjoyed her in The Accused.

Somehow I always had a feeling that she was. I also liked her as Val Kilmer's sister in At First Sight.

It's a shame that her career never really took off. She was one of the few main stars in Top Gun not to get another big break after that film.

In recent years she's been doing television spots, tv movies, and direct-to-video films.

Never thought of her in that way, but oh well....if she is true to what she feels, more power to her :)

I would like to see Kelly have sex with a woman hahahahahahahahahaha. Kelly was hot back in the day. I haven't seen her lately. I liked her in Top Gun and Witness. I saw her do a movie with Peter Weller who played in the first 2 Robocop movies. I forgot the name of it but it was pretty good.

I thougt that Kelly being gay was pretty common knowlege too. After all, she did have a girlfriend during the making of Top Gun. Still, there is no shame in her being gay and I'm glad that she felt it was time for her to "come out". :)
