I hope this movie will be good too and I hope this will be the last one.

I like SAW too but come on, how long can this series possibly go on?

With this and the upcoming video game; I don't know if they'll get another contract for more sequels.

I hope it's the last one too. I hope this one will be really good and the series goes out with a bang. I didn't know about the upcoming video game. I just looked up info on it and it seems interesting. I think I'll probably buy it for my XBox 360.

Yeah, the game is due to come out in October 2009; coinciding with SAW VI.

I posted about it here a few months ago when I first heard about it.

Well the previous Saw left things open for this current one. I hope it ends too and that it goes out with a bang to finally end things.

The Saw VI Blood Drive Nurse is Here
Source: Yahoo! Movies
August 7, 2009

Ouch! The nurse behind this year's Saw VI Blood Drive campaign look lethal...and unreal. Two one-sheets have been released via Yahoo! Movies with the following:

Every year, Lionsgate gets the blood pumping for its new SAW film with the SAW "Give 'Til It Hurts" blood drive, benefiting the Red Cross. As part of that tradition, the studio produces an ad campaign starring the SAW nurse, a sexy sister of dubious mercy who wants your blood.

Lionsgate's poster design guru Tim Palen photographed the lovely lady you see below.

Exclusive First Look at the Latest Saw VI Poster!

"Trust in him."

So says the latest Saw VI one-sheet we're exclusively premiering today. What's it mean? No clue. We can only speculate and look deeper into the imagery of a pair of soiled boxing glove "hands."

The next installment in Lionsgate's lucrative franchise - chronicling Jigsaw, his message and his followers - opens in theaters on October 23 and welcomes Saw series editor Kevin Greutert to the director's chair. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton return on scripting duties.

Followers Gather for Saw VI Poster

August 22, 2009

Not long ago, Yahoo! presented a "motion poster" for Saw VI.

The image was a portrait of John Kramer (aka Jigsaw), represented by the culmination of his "followers."

The poster has now come into better focus and, as you can see, the tiny people are all wearing pig masks and robes.

I like the Saw movies too, but I think it's time to end it. They all pretty much follow the same pattern anyway. The series started to go downhill after the third movie.

I've been saying that for a while but it doesn't look like that SAW is anywhere near the end...

There is word that they will go up to eight films and who knows what will happen after that.

Each sequel since part 3 has made under $80,000,000 domestically. Saw V only made close to $57,000,000. My best guess is maybe once the movies stop grossing under 50 mil they will stop making sequels.

Saw VI Photo: Is That Amanda?
Source: Official Saw
September 25, 2009

Is Saw VI going to play like a "greatest hits" album?

It's beginning to look that way judging by the crop of photos hitting the web this last week (like this nod to Saw III).

Now we've got the image you see below - by way of the official Saw site and it looks like we're seeing Amanda (Shawnee Smith) in the head trap.

Then again, this poster reveals a new head trap is on the way. Our guess? It's not Amanda but just another victim altogether. Sound off with your own theories in the comments board below.

First Look at Amanda in Lionsgate's Saw VI!!!
Monday, September 28, 2009
By: MrDisgusting

If there were one thing that could have made me like Saw V better it would have been the appearance of Amanda.

We've got an exciting exclusive still for you this morning as beyond the break you can chew on a super hi-res still from Lionsgate's Saw VI, which features Shawnee Smith back in action as Amanda, Jigsaw's dark and twisted protégé who lost her way.

In the latest sequel arriving in theaters October 23, Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

Tanedra Howard On Jumping Into Saw VI
Source: Robert Galluzzo
October 3, 2009

We caught up briefly with actress Tanedra Howard, the winner of last year's Scream Queens reality series, who through that series won a coveted role in the new Saw sequel, Saw VI.

A self confessed huge fan of the series who admits to having seen all five previous entries on the big screen, we asked her what it was like stepping into the Saw series with a group that's already been making these films together annually now.

"I tell you, when I woke up the next morning (after the show) to go on set, I was greeted with open arms," she says.

"Everyone was great. I thought coming from a reality show, everyone would’ve thought "Oh she just won the role. Whatever." But no, they were really nice and warm. Some of them actually saw the show and knew me a bit before, so they were all great and supportive."

For this entry, long time Saw series editor Kevin Greutert got the opportunity to jump behind the camera to direct Saw VI. We asked Howard how it was working with an editor turned director.

"With Kevin, there was a lot of stuff constantly being shot," she explains.

"He’s all about covering angles. He was all over the place when it came to shooting. Working with him was fairly easy because he knew exactly what he wanted, and I think that comes a lot from the fact that he’s edited all the other 'Saw' movies."

As a Saw fan, we inquired if she got to cross path's with Jigsaw himself Tobin Bell, despite his scenes being flashback sequences.

"I didn’t get to meet or work with Tobin! Our shooting schedules were off. When I was in Toronto, he was back here. And when I got back to LA, he went to work in Toronto. I did get to meet Costas! And Betsy Russell! And they were both really great people."

Lastly, we asked which Saw trap is her personal favorite from the entire series.

"I would have to say the venus fly trap from 'Saw II', where the guy had to get the key out from behind his eye? That was pretty funky! And then in 'Saw III', the guy who had his head and limbs twisted. Those two are neck and neck for my favorites!"

A Pair of International Posters for Saw VI

Saw VI is taking the world in just a few weeks and, this morning, a pair of international one-sheets for the sixth entry - starring Costas Mandylor, Mark Rolston, Betsy Russell, Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith and Peter Outerbridge - have arrived by way of Kinopoisk.

Clearly, the touch of Lionsgate's U.S. poster designer, Tim Palen, is missing here. But what do you think of these?

Yeah. I check out a lot of foreign movie posters; most are definitely not the same with what we get.

The horror ones especially tent to be a little more detailed; especially in Asia with what I've seen.

Greutert: Saw Almost Turned to the Mafia?
Source: Ryan Rotten, Managing Editor
October 14, 2009

Kevin Greutert, the latest director to sit at the helm of the Saw franchise, won't divulge any plot details about Saw VI, but he did offer us a glimpse at what could have been...

"There was a point someone wanted the movie to be about Hoffman versus the mafia," he reveals, "that was reminiscent of 'Saw II' in which Jigsaw led the police into his lair and then pulled the rug out from under them."

Greutert admittedly didn't care for the idea. "It didn't feel like 'Saw' to me, we came back a week later and we came into the meeting. Marcus and Patrick offered the story and it was nothing like what we discussed with the mafia tale. And that never came up again."

In the sixth entry, Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) is the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

Lionsgate Comments on Saw VI Performance
Source: The Hollywood Reporter
November 13, 2009

Though it's really no secret, Saw VII is happening. Yet the Hollywood trades don't need to listen to genre sites like this one to learn the truth; instead they go to fellas like Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns for confirmation.

In a report this week, Burns told The Hollywood Reporter that Paranormal Activity is to blame for Saw VI's lackluster performance.

"As long as we make money on it we'll keep doing this," Burns said.

The Saw franchise is expected to go through to an eighth entry, as revealed by Twisted Pictures Mark Burg.

"Just watched a very cool rough cut of a behind the scenes featurette on our SAW: Game Over attraction from HHN '09. Will be on the "Saw VI" DVD," he writes on his Twitter account.

Expect a speedy turnaround for the sixth entry in the franchise. When a DVD announcement comes, we'll let you know.
