Hmmm, perhaps there was something to that acceptance speech when Sean Penn "Forgot" to thank his wife?

The second time around wasn't enough to heal the differences between Sean Penn and his wife, Robin Wright Penn.
Extra is reporting that Penn has filed for divorce for the second time in two years. He filed initially back in 2007, but after the paperwork was in, the couple decided to give married life a second chance.

The couple have two children together, and have been married since 1996.
Extra reports that in the initial 2007 divorce filing, joint custody of the children was sought, but there's no word as to what this filing is requesting.
Penn is coming off of a huge 2008 career-wise, having won the Best Actor Oscar for his role as gay politician Harvey Milk in 'Milk.'

WOW they seemed to have a stable marriage.

This is really too bad. It was great seeing them together at the Oscar's this year, and Robin looked so happy for him when he won.

I had really hoped these two would have been able to work through their differences this past year and was so happy when I heard they were going to give it another try.

At least they can say they both really tried before having to throw in the towel. :(

Sean and Robin always seemed to have a stable marriage. I'm shocked that Sean filed for divorce before.

I knew that they'd filed before, and was so happy to hear that they'd managed to work things out. So I'm really sorry to hear this. I wish they could still work through it, but I kinda doubt they will now. Maybe they'll both be happier in the long run (like Tom and Nicole - I never saw that split coming either).

BTW, aren't they the ones who named their son Hopper Jack?
