I am so sorry to hear this. I didn't know she was sick. But I must say, I have seen her the last few years, and she looked rather thin. RIP, Bea.

Wow, this is shocking news. I heard she was sick, but I didn't know she had cancer. She was a great actress, one of the most successful careers as a woman in TV history - rest in peace, Bea!

I had no idea she was ill either but I guess she was very private. She was one of the top comedy geniuses of all time, along with Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett

In addition to Maude and Dorothy, I loved her as Vera Charles in the 1974 movie musical "Mame"--the one time we see Bea and Lucille Ball perform together. (if they did other things together, I'm unaware of it)--they make the movie for me, esp singing "Bosom Buddies".
