It's about 3:45am in NY now as I write this...

I was outside sitting on my front stoop smoking and as I happened to look up at the sky I saw a shooting star jet across the sky.

It didn't last long at all, I would say maybe 2 seconds before it just disappeared. It came out of nowhere, I saw a small yellow dot just zoom and then vanish. It also had a tail behind it that slowly disintegrated.

Have you ever seen this before? I never saw one until just now.

Actually, they are called meteors.

I've seen quite a few. Sometimes at random when I am outside at night biking.

I have also set up a chair in the backyard during the annual (August) Perseid meteor shower and have seen quite a few then.

How cool, James. I've only seen a handful in my lifetime, some while riding in a car late at night, some while outside on Summer nights. Once, I was walking with my mom, and I saw a huge one! It actually freaked my mom and I out. It looked like a passing flame in the night sky, it was really close... You can bet your life I made a wish though.;)

I've seen a couple shooting stars. The coolest thing I ever saw at night though happened at about three in the morning. I was sitting on a bench at this middle school I use to visit at night, and about 100 yards in front of me, I saw a ball of fire come shooting toward the ground. It was really weird, but cool.

I have seen a few. I just happen to be looking up at the right time and there it is. It's quite something to watch. Very cool!

Yes. But mostly when I was a kid, out at my uncle's ranch. If you're away from the city lights, you can see them much, much better.

I saw one once. I was driving home at night and for some reason I was driving a little slow that night and I saw a shooting star as I was coming up a hill.

Many of times, especially during the summer months, when I work out (during the night time); which is odd since I do not live in an urban area. I guess meteor showers are a common occurrence in Southern California.

Hell, when you get to my age, you've even seen a couple of dinosaurs wander by.... ;)

I see them often, then again I like to look out at the night sky a lot. I also like to watch the meteor showers during the Summer, they're very cool and it looks like someone streaked glitter across the sky.

No, but I have a neighbour who went to school with Eve's second cousin, Isabelle. ;)
