It could signal the end of heavy eyeliner and black nail polish for the kids who love to bop about to the likes of MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and THURSDAY.
Legislation is currenting being drawn to regulate websites and ban emo and goth fashion in schools and government buildings.
The new laws are being driven by overprotective fears the "dangerous teen trend" encourages depression and suicide.
Critics have slammed the musical genre as a negative culture encouraging anti-social behaviour and glorifiying suicide.
The weekend saw mass protests by Russian emo kids.
