“RuPaul’s Drag Race” has turned out to be anything but a drag for Logo.
The MTV-owned cable network has ordered a second season of the drag queen competition reality show from World of Wonder Prods., according to two people familiar with the situation. The show’s first season finale aired Monday.
While Logo isn’t officially rated by Nielsen yet, “Drag Race” has proven to be a major buzz magnet for the network, drawing glowing profiles in Entertainment Weekly and the Los Angeles Times. Sister network VH1 has been repeating the show, drawing strong sampling.
A Logo publicist said “Drag Race” ranks as the most-streamed show in the history of the network’s Web site.
Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell and RuPaul Charles are executive producers of “Drag Race.” Merle Ginsberg and Santino Rice serve as judges for the show.
A Logo spokesman could not confirm the “Drag Race” renewal.
