Here's some pics of jewelry I make. There's necklaces, bracelets, anklets, chokers and keychains / Zipper Pulls. Would you buy or wear / use anything like this and if so, what would you be willing to pay (keep in mind of the exchange rate, lol)?

Some of the pictures could be better - some colours look slightly different probably but close enough.....

I need to resize a bunch, so more to come in a bit...

I found a site the other day called Tinypic. You can upload your photos and there is a drop down menu and you can choose what size you want to resize your picture to. Then you can send them to your desktop(or wherever you prefer) and they're ready to be uploaded to S.O. By the way I know nothing about jewelry but I think pieces you posted are beautiful.

I would totally buy that stuff, they are gorgeous. As far as price goes maybe 10 or 15 US dollars... I dunno I am horrible at pricing things..

I think they're really pretty! However, it'd be fun if you did something in hemp. A simple hemp choker/necklace with a few beads in it... I'd definitely buy one from you if you made one! I'm not the jewelry type, but my mom would definitely buy from you - she LOVES jewelry-making (mainly beading) so I bet she would love some of the things you've made. :)

It's hard to tell, due to my weird monitor, but is the first pic hemp?

Thanks Guys!

Actually, about half of them (all of the keychains and zipper pulls) are hemp Al. That's why I say I know the pics didn't turn out too well. I'll try to get better tomorrow in the sunshine. Those ones whip up faster than the full glass bead ones do actually! And they're fun to do. I just make up the design as I go - whatever I'm "feeling" at the time.

Some are more "masculine". The first one on the gold pillow is the one I gave to Brad actually. I just mailed it in a card. Cost me about $2 in postage. I make the beads smaller and black, or these "barrel" kind that look more like a guy's choker or bracelet (they do wear 'em). ;)

I was thinking about maybe $10 - $15 on a necklace (depending on the beadwork - some of those beads are unbelievably expensive!). Maybe $7 - $10 for bracelets, anklets and keychains. (no tax of course).

I just thought I'm doing it as a hobby anyway, have a fair inventory of supplies, so what the heck, if I could make some coin to help my thru why not. Just as long as I don't look like some schlemp who's making garbage. lol

btw - the hemp is in some pretty cool bright colours. I've experimented with using two colours which can create a unusual look which I haven't seen anywhere before.

 Thanks Lauren! I've worn the snake one to a couple of interviews actually. That is sort of a moon - a mouthblown glass pendant that's a moon shape with a bit of a tail at the end.

I can also kind of custom make stuff - i.e. colour schemes, hemp (macrame) with or without beads, dangles and stuff. I can make them plain and you can attach what you like if you have a pendant or something from PetsMart, etc..

I'm really into snakes and that one is AWESOME! The blown glass is really cool too. :)

Thanks! They are fun to make up actually. Nice short projects I can do while watching t.v.

I could never do this before with my cats around - can you imagine - beads and stiff string - a cat's dream! LOL

I would buy them when my lifestyle was busier with working, etc. They are very beautiful, and I know firsthand because I have the beautiful necklace you gave me displayed in my room. Your work is stunning, Cat.

Price, hard to say. You have to factor in the price of the beads, your time, packing material, etc. What may pose a problem for you is the insane shipping costs from Canada to the U.S.

Thanks J. :D

I know sending some pieces to the U.S. could get pricey - the heavier, long glass bead ones like the one I sent to you.

The hemp pieces with lighter beads aren't too bad though. I can usually send those in an envelope of some sort to keep prices down. I don't mind the time as much since it gives me something to do while watching t.v. anyway. I am considering maybe making enough that I could rent a table at a flea market or something for a day or two and see how it goes. Or maybe through my Facebook account or something.

Just checked inventory and I just need to get some pink hemp string. I thought there was some, but it turned out to be red. If you're not in a huge rush, I can pick some up later this week and probably have it made over the weekend. Did you want some sort of centre stone (or small pendant) or just plain small black beads throughout it?

I might need to get your address again too Al. I know I had it when I bought the Livestrong bracelet, but I'll bet I misplaced it. You can shoot me a PM or email me on my Facebook account - whichever's easiest.

No prob! :) no hurry here - I don't get paid 'til tomorrow, anyway. If you have Paypal, I can send ya the $ over the weekend.

Oh lord - I still have a bunch here. LOL!! I'm not sure what I did with them tho - packed them up, or gave them to a thrift store. I know I still have the one I was wearing. Just not sure where THAT is, either. LOL!

Just black beads throughout, like the red hemp choker - I like the idea of having them all along the choker, like the red one you posted, only it would span the whole thing. :)

Hmmm, you'll probably need a neck measurement, right?

Shoot - no paypal, but that's ok. Yah, probably best to give me the length you want since I don't know where you prefer it to "sit". They're hooked in the back with a regular "O" ring with a pull on it and it just slips over the hemp loop at the other end. So no open loops either right - just straight square knots? Loops tend to give it a more feminine look. Nuts, I wish those pics had come out a bit clear too. lol

Paypal is soooo easy to set up! All you need is a valid checking account with your bank, and you're good to go. But I can do whatever you want for payment. :) They even have a feature where, if the other party you're sending money to needs the money right away, you can send money and it gets to them right away. You have to specify that when making the payment, though. Otherwise it takes a few business days to process. I did that not too long ago when my old roomie had an emergency and needed $ (I still owe her some money) right away.

Yep, square knots work. I'm definitely not the girly-girl type (I know, I asked for pink and purple... ha!), so that works. :)
