Dolph Lundgren could be segueing from "The Expendables" to "The Throwaways".

The actor, currently in Brazil filming Sylvester Stallone's all-star action romp, is circling writer/producer Eric Goren's upcoming thriller.

The film tells of homeless people who re "disappearing" at an unprecedented rate from the streets of New York City. A determined reporter and a renegade cop uncover the mysterious and baffling situation whilst trying to maintain a pulse of their own.

"There is a good possibility the Dolph will direct and act in this project", Goren tells Moviehole. ''I decided that Dolph would be a great fit because The Throwaways involves quite a lot of action and Dolph has directed a number of action adventure movies before. I also feel that Dolph has a huge fan base in European and Asian markets which would be key demographics for The Throwaways."

Goren says Luke Goss ("Hellboy II : The Golden Army") is also onboard the project.

Looks like a lot of the action stars from the 80s are on the rise again....

Stallone, Willis, Van Damme, Rourke, and now Lundgren.

People still want to see these guys. They have been active, but mainly in the direct-to-video market, and it's great to see these guys get mainstream recognition again.
