I'm Moving!

My company is transfering me to Iowa. Is anybody from there? Are there any place you can recommend I see around there? I've never been to Iowa so I am looking forward to exploring the area.

I've been up in Iowa the last three days and I found myself a house and filled out the paperwork to rent it yesterday. I will be back up in Iowa by the 23d of this month and then I get to fly back and forth a few weeks until I get my furniture up there.

If you are moving anywhere near Clear Lake, there is the Surf Ballroom where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper played their last show, and you can go to the site of the plane crash.

The next few weeks will be pretty hectic because I am basically moving twice. I'm currently in the New Orleans area where I have been the last about 6 months working.

So right now, I am packing up my apartment in New Orleans. Then this coming week I will be heading back to Texas with all my stuff from New Orleans. Then I will be heading to my parents so they can watch my dogs for a couple of weeks until I am ready to fully move to Iowa.

In the meantime, I will be flying back and forth to finalize my move. Once it is finalized, I will fly back for the last time and drive my truck back up with my dogs. That final move will probably take place after Easter.

Man, what an upcoming month, the good thing is that my company will hire a company to come in, pack my things and move me up to Iowa. I just have to over see. So if you don't see me around the next month, this is why. I'll probably only be on late at night when I am on now just because of working all day, then packing, and all the driving and flying I'll be doing.

I'm not sure how close I am to things except for Chicago. I am 3 hours from Chicago. That's where we flew into this past week. But I don't mind driving, I'm used to it. So any place you've heard of I want to check it out! Thanks for the info so far. After I get settled I'll get ahold of Cathy and see what she recommends.
