Those shows for me were

American Idol
Desperate Housewives
The Apprentice

American Idol became too silly, Desperate Housewives changed too much in season 2, and The Apprentice changed into having Celebrities instead of regular people.

what made you lose interest in LOST?

Actually, I've never seen it. But from what I've heard, I hear it just isn't as great as it was when it first started. The buzz has seemed to die down...

I'm done with Ugly Betty (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=682) and that glorified karaoke contest American Idol (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=663).

I still like Survior even though the "buzz" may have died down. I dont think I have even seen a whole episode of a 2000 show. It is really surprising to find out some shows have been on 5-10 years

LOST - working with no 'show bible' as to how things work in that universe killed it for me. It just became stupid.

Alias - After season 1, ABC asked JJ Abrams to dumb it down, and he listened. Idiot.

Medium - Honestly, I don't think this show is any better or worse than it was, I just lost interest.

Survivor - I saw most of the first season (Borneo), the second (Australia), the third (Africa), and All-Stars, then that's been it. I gererally hate reality shows anyway, and I especially hate that they've invaded some of my favorite cable channels like TV Land and GSN.

Survivor - gave up around season 3
Eli Stone - started off with a bang, but couldn't maintain the bang for a full season (and then got cancelled)
Dirty, Sexy, Money - Ditto
The Apprentice - gave up when Trump decided to prolong his feud with Rosie O'Donnell.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE-gave up when it ceased being funny.
30 ROCK-just got too boring
ER-got too "soap opera-ish"

1. Grey's Anatomy - I watched the show from the very beginning, and stayed with it through early season 3. It got so trashy and beyond ridiculous. The writing was bad and the storylines were horrible. The really sad thing is that I hear the show is worse now than ever before.

2. Heroes - It was never a great show, but it was entertaining for a while. I'm all for changes on my shows, but all the changes seemed to happen at the same time. And they weren't for the better.

3. Veronica Mars - I never fully lost interest in the show, but when it was moved to The CW in 2006, this once gem of a show went downhill. The network demanded changes, and changes is what they got. Again, not for the better. I was heartbroken when the show was canceled, but I don't think I could have gone through yet another format change.

I used to like American Idol a lot. I never missed any of it. This is the first year where I've only watched it a few times. And the sad thing is that I don't have any desire to watch it anymore. It seems like a waste of time. Even the losers end up winners when it's all said and done. For me, the appeal of the show is gone. It's gotten stale. I haven't completely stopped watching though. I'm waiting for the actual competition to start - when it's narrowed down to the top 12 performers. That's when I'll make my final verdict.

Although always silly, I loved Desperate Housewives in the beginning. But it got old. Fast. And it's not that I suddenly lost interest in the show. I held on for as long as I could. It just seemed to get worse as time went by.

I never got the appeal of The Apprentice, especially when that's all anyone used to talk about.

Grey's Anatomy - for the same reasons Buffyboy cited.

Desparate Housewives - what exactly happened in Season 2 that made it jump? Never could put my finger on it but just stopped watching.

Nip/Tuck - Remember in 2003/2004, it was this massively popular show and now it's so ridiculously outrageous! It makes "The Bold and the Beautiful" look like a CNN documentary.

New Additions to the show is what happened with Desperate Housewives in season 2

General Hospital is one show that comes to mind. Mostly because it stopped being interesting and it started to focus on characters of no interest to me. In fact i've basically stopped watching all soap operas this decade. I haven't watched any soap reguarly since January 2007.

For a period i would say American Idol would fit that bill as well, during some seasons i opted not to watch because i didn't like the way producers clearly scripted some elements of the show.

I agree with The Apprentice, it became irrellevant after the first season and each season since has become a bigger joke. The fact that i now can't stand Donald Trump makes it even worse (i'm a rosie fan).

i would also mention The View as a show that i lost interest in during this decade. I used to love the show around 2003, 2004, 2005. But i just never adjusted to Whoopie as the host or to Elizabeth being allowed to take over the show in terms of airtime.

Mad TV for sure. I loved it during the 1990's and part of the early 2000's but stopped watching around 2002 or 2003 because all the people i liked left the show and it just got sillier and siller. I heard that it was cancelled this year so for that i'm sad but not that sad.

Alias - After season 1, ABC asked JJ Abrams to dumb it down, and he listened. Idiot.

I agree, but the changes didn't really go into effect until the middle of the second season (following the Superbowl), and that whole year of the show was absolutely fantastic. Although seasons 3-5 weren't always up to the standards of the first 2 years, Alias is still one of my favorites shows ever.

Malcolm In The Middle - Since it's been off the air I kind of started hating the show, and I refuse to watch it in syndication, even though there is really nothing else to watch during that timeslot.

Big Brother - They did a version during the Spring and I had too many other shows to view to keep up with it's three shows a week. Once the summer edition came I didn't want to watch anymore because I had missed a season.

Supernatural - Thursday nights are just too competitive for my DVR, and I would rather spend my time catching up on other shows.

It's too bad you didn't watch BB10. The winter edition (BB9) was completely AWFUL, but, in my opinion, BB10 was one of the best. After 10 seasons, there was finally a deserving winner.

I may have to catch up before Season 11 starts. I've heard it was great from lots of people and have managed to be unspoiled so far.
