MPI To Release Lucille Ball Specials to DVD - "Three For Two" to be released

I'm sure most of you already know this, but MPI Video and Lucie and Desi Arnaz, Jr. are working together to release Here's Lucy and Lucille Ball's TV specials. The first release is scheduled for June 30, 2009, and it will include the "Lucy Gets Lucky" special with Dean Martin, and the "Three For Two" show with Jackie Gleason. More specials are to be released, which in the future will include those with Art Carney. I watched this special a few months back when making a dupe from my VHS to DVD, and it was the first time in years I saw the show. (Had I known it would be coming out on DVD, I wouldn't have made a copy of it!) Anyway, while the special is far from the greatest thing both Lucy and Gleason did in their careers, I didn't think it was nearly as bad as its reputation is. I think that had the show featured anyone other than Jackie Gleason and Lucille Ball it would have been considered very good. Still, it is worth adding to any Gleason and/or Lucy collections.
