I have been thinking of getting a tattoo for a long time but I just can't decide what I would want. Anyone here have any tats? What are they? Anyone else thinking of getting one? What would you want?

I want to get one that has something to do with my daughters names and I want it on my back. I Just don't know what to combine their names with.

Yes, I have two. I'm not going to show the first one (it has my name in it) but here is the second one, when it'd just been colored in, last summer:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/PZelda/album2/linkcolortattoo.jpg
It's on my upper arm. :) (it's of Link from the Legend of Zelda series for Nintendo... this particular illustration is from the first game ever, when it was released in 1987, to symbolize how long I've been a loyal fan)
I want to get a tattoo of Princess Zelda, just to round it out. :) I wanted to keep with the theme of artwork from the first game, but haven't been able to find any, so I guess I'm going to have to get one from a different game. :(

No way!! I have an intense fear of needles. I practically pass out at blood tests at the doctor's office. Maybe I'll try a henna tattoo sometime.

I'm not critical of people that have/want them, but I've never remotely had a desire to get one, even when I was an army NCO (where to get a tatoo is a fairly common practice)

Love that game! :D
Hee, me too. :D Even though I've never properly beaten it - I HAVE beat the first quest about 800 times, but the second quest is SO FREAKING HARD OMG. And the second game ever - Legend of Link - that was worse. I've never been able to get past the third palace, and that stupid game has been out for nearly 21 years now.
Okay, ending my fangirling here.

The first quest is a breeze, Try beating the game without losing a life. I've managed to do that only once. It's been several years since I played so I doubt I could do it again. A Link to that past was also easy but it took a while to beat that one.

I have nothing remotely tattoo related to contribute, but....

I remember borrowing that game from my cousin when I was like 7. He had gotten pretty far in the game, but never beat it. But I did! :D

A Link to the Past is one of my top 5 all time favorite games. Every couple years I'll go back and play it (on an emulator, unfortunately), and inevitably lose interest at some point in the dark world.
What's great is with the Wii, I can finally play these games on TV again. I downloaded the original, LTTP, and Ocarina of time. Epic fun.

 LTTP is my #2 fave Zelda game and I'm actually thinking of getting a tattoo of LTTP Princess Zelda... it's been the only one I've remotely liked so far.
In fact, I just beat it for the umpteenth time yesterday. :D It's the one game where I know it inside out.
Okay, seriously, we need to stop hijacking this thread.

i've been wanting to get one for a while. i just can't find the social boldness to actually go in there and say "hey i want a tattoo, what are your rates, can i see your portfolio" etc...anxiety is a bitch. anyway i'd want to get a red heart with wings on my upper arm, possibly with a "d" initial in it. people who know me would be rolling their eyes, but it's much more about the past than the present.

^^ Monika I actaully did pass out when I donated blood. Not because of the sight though, but I stood up too soon afterward and didn't have enough circulating I guess. I remember my vision started fading and I thought to myself "I need to sit down" and that was the last thing I remembered before coming to and looking up at the high schools gym ceiling lol i look back on it now and when i think of everything going black before fainting it reminds me of the bugs bunny cartoons when he'd fake death by saying "everythings getting dark..."lol

I can't even donate blood because of my low weight (usually it's between 103-110 lbs) - plus with my past issues with anorexia and hypoglycemia, it's a very big risk for me. But I dread those times I have to have blood tests. Needles and blood make me queasy. That's just the way it is.

sorry for bumping up a thread from two months ago. but i figured i would just ask a question here, rather than make a new one.
for those of you on here with tattoos, did it hurt? any advice you'd like to share? i'm thinking of getting one by the end of summer. i've wanted to get one for quite some time, but i never did it. i wanted to be sure i'd still want it in the future. any good/bad experiences or stories?

i'm thinking of getting an icthus with one of my favorite bible verses below it.
the only problem is deciding which verse to get, because i have about four or five in mind. lol.

It depends on where you get it, some places are more tender than others. It does hurt, but I endured it for 2 and a half hours without breaking a sweat, so it's not that bad. I plan to get another one as soon as I have the money, once you realize you can handle the pain, you want more! ;)

No way would I get a tatoo. For one thing, I'm deathly afraid of needles and in all honesty, I think they look tacky. Sorry if this offends anyone here who has them. But I just cringe whenever I see them on people. Defeinitely not for me. Besides, what would I do if I changed my mind? I know you can get them removed, but it's just not worth the effort. A lot of people where I work have them and they look so unprofessional. There is this one guy I work with-really really nice guy, who has one on his face and a whole bunch on his arms. I was surprised they hired him, looking like that.

I'm not sure if I'd ever get a tattoo. I've thought about it (I was thinking of a quill pen writing the words "Imagine" on my upper back, near my shoulder...it'd suit me since I'm a writer and I admire John Lennon), but I'm not sure if I'd ever go through with it. Too permanent.
I have been considering another piercing, though! So far I just have a nose stud and two holes in each ear, but I was thinking of the tongue or labret as my next piercing :) Not sure, though....something to mull over! :)
