Yes :)
We believe (I believe) in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, and born of the Father before all ages. (God of God) light of light, true God of true God. Begotten not made, consubstantial to the Father, by whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven. And was incarnate of the Holy Ghost and of the Virgin Mary and was made man; was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried; and the third day rose again according to the Scriptures. And ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, and shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, of whose Kingdom there shall be no end. And (I believe) in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father (and the Son), who together with the Father and the Son is to be adored and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We confess (I confess) one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for (I look for) the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Absolutely. He is my rock and my salvation and my all in all.
I can easily say that from the moment I accepted Him into my life, I haven't looked back, or looked at the world the same as I did before. :)

I'm not totally sure of his existence. I'm a former Christian by Default. Have all kinds of Christians in my family, but after using the last few years to put a lot of thought and reasoning into it, I'm 100% confident that all of the various gods that people worship are non-existent. And as comforting and convenient as the afterlife sounds, there isn't anything that can convince me that it's real.

The only afterlife you have is in the hearts and minds of those who knew you.

my experience with christianity always seemed to have the reverse effect that other christians usually report. whenever i put faith in god lived a christian life, everything spiraled out of control. i'd forget about him and things would be good again. it was that simple. i started noticing the pattern when i was a child. it was just a few months ago that i got fed up and abandoned the idea that god, if existent, can help me with anything. my life has been looking up since then. i don't have any theories or any explanation for it, so questioning or lecturing me would be pretty pointless. the fact that the bible is unreliable and full of ideas that i find grossly immoral is just icing on the cake. i believe in fate and the paranormal 100%. and the fact that i have gotten such strong reactions from the idea of christianity makes me think it has some basis, but it's been made clear that i'm not supposed to be a part of it.

I myself really don't have any set beliefs. I'm still trying to figure out what I believe in. So, I guess in a sense I'm an agnostic because I haven't abandoned any possibility that God exists. I just think that, if God does exist...it isn't in the sense that many people believe. Since this is a topic about Jesus, yes I do believe that Jesus existed, I think he was a good person with a good message...but do I feel that he is the son of God? I don't know. I'm just not the type of person that can let myself believe something simply on the basis of faith. I wish I could be because people like that seem to be much happier, but I'm just not and I can't be convinced to think that way.

Yes, I do believe in Jesus, however, it seems that a lot of these responses seem to read like the back of a hymnal with the recitation of the Apostles' Creed, etc. It doesn't seem personal, just a repeating of all the things we're supposed to believe. How has Christ touched you, how has he become real for you?
However, I have to admit, I feel very frustrated in my life as a Christian. I don't feel often some "big experience" with God currently, but I do sense very strongly He's there. I feel frustrated that too many people I know who consider themselves Christians often don't act like it. Being judgemental, hypocritical, shallow, self-important, we all know the types. I go to an evangelical church, but I hardly feel like an evangelical. I'd probably seem too
"liberal" for my friends.
Sometimes I have a hard time with the concept of Jesus as being "a divine rescuer". I have problems with how people define salvation, "Jesus died on the cross to zap away my sins and make me into a wonderful person! Therefore, I'm better than YOU, you miserable hellbound sinner!!" I look at it not so much from the negative (Jesus died to take away sins) but on the positive: Jesus came to bring divine love into people's lives. Everyone He came in contact with was ultimately changed, because He was the presence of God incarnate. For all the thing about confronting people's sins, when
"bad" people came to Jesus, do you think He had to tell them they were sinners?? They encountered Jesus and sensed something so beautiful and life-affirming in Him that they felt they WANTED to change their ways, to repent (turn from darkness to light). They didn't need a rebuke or reprimand.
The opposite of sin is love. Not "righteousness" (which always seems to sound like SELF-righteousness). Because in love, you do no wrong. Love covers a multitude of sins. Sin is imperfection, inadequacy, "missing the mark"
of what's right and perfect. Sin isn't merely "bad things you do". When you love, or are loved, it makes you feel more complete.

I think of myself as a religious person, to an extent; although, I am certainly
far from perfect. I acknowledge the presence of God and Christ and speak
to Him and pray to Him daily. But there are bad habits in my life that I wish
I could break. I easily lose my temper and use language in private that I
would never say in public.
There's a secular song that has always spoken to my heart, and it's the
song "Show Me the Way" (recorded by Styx). It goes like this:
Every night I say a prayer
In the hopes that there's a heaven
But every day I'm more confused
As the saints turn into sinners.
All the heroes and legends I knew as a child
Fall into idols of clay
And I feel this empty place inside
So afraid that I've lost my way.
Show me the way
Show me the way
Take me tonight to the river
And wash my illusions away
Show me the way.
As I slowly drift asleep
For a moment,dreams are sacred
I close my eyes and know there's peace
In a world so filled with hatred.
Then I wake up each morning and turn on the news
And find we've so far to go
And I keep on hoping for a sign,
So afraid that I just won't know.
Show me the way
Show me the way
Take me tonight to the mountain
And wash my confusion away
And show me the way.
And if I feel light, should I believe
Tell me how will I know?
Show me the way
Show me the way
Take me tonight to the river
And wash my illusions away
Show me the way
Show me the way
Give me the strength and the courage
To believe that I'll get there someday
Show me the way.
Every night I say a prayer ...
In the hopes that there's a heaven.
I guess that sums it up: I WANT TO believe, and I am trying harder every day.

I believe in a prophet name Jesus, but whether he was the son of "God" or not, I'm still grappling with. Brad and I have discussed this at length. Sometimes I wish I could believe it, but I'm not great with structured religion at any time.
That's why I say I'm more "spiritual" where if anything, I could follow what the North American Indian believed with nature and that sort of thing.
I give kudos to people who's religion is good to them and they find comfort in it, however, I've had too many friends where if anything, religion left them feeling just guilty and didn't give them comfort. I also give kudos who try to live the good the way their religion teaches them, but not the ones who are blantantly hypocrites with it. I like studying all different religions too, that way it gives me a bit more understanding of why people behave the way they do.
