Episode #26
TV: This episode has not been seen on TV since it's original airdate.
VCR: Attached to "Brother-In-Law."
DVD: On Vol. 12, it is attached to "Hair-Raising Tale", "Double Anniversary Party" & "Love Letter." On Vol. 24, it is attached to "Goodbye Aunt Ethel", "Vacation At Fred's Landing ('53 version, not the '54 version as MPI claims on Vol. 24) & "The Best of The Lost Episodes." (Note: The reason why this episode is on two volumes ie because MPI goofed and accidentally put this episode on Vol. 24 where it should have put the remade version: "What's The Name" on it. So MPI made two goofs with Vol. 24.)
The episode opens up with the Kramdens returning home from the movies with the Nortons. Ralph is upset because every time there was a love scene in the movie, Ed had to kiss Trixie while he was between them. Ha! In this episode, the lights in the apartment are on, so Ralph questions why. Alice says the reason is to keep burglars away. After Ralph yells at Alice because he doesn't want to have a snadwich, Alice says it wouldn't hurt for him to act like that Robert Coleman in that picture.
Ralph comes out wearing a long-sleeve shirt and some loud boxers. Alice laughs at what Ralph has on. As Ralph is putting on his robe, Alice is talking about one of the girls in the movie that Ralph probably liked. Alice said she got a lot of things from Max Factor. Isn't it strange in a way that on this episode, there's a Max Factor reference while he was still the makeup director I believe on I Love Lucy? Looks like Max made a factor in the TV industry and the makeup industry huh?
Alice then talks about some other girl in the picture that she can't remember the girl. She asks Ralph. He doesn't know. He goes to sleep and within 10 seconds he comes back out saying he can't sleep because he can't think of the woman's name. One of the things that they try to do is to sit down and get off the subject in hopes that they will remember the name. This lasts for about five seconds. So Alice gets the newspaper's theatrical section from the garbage can. Ralph reads the names: "''Burning Lips'', Gary Coleman, Lana Turner...'" Alice: "Well?" Ralph: "I can't read the other name. It has ketchup all over it. Do you have to put ketchup on the garbage?" Question: If Ralph wanted to know the name so bad, couldn't he just wipe the ketchup off the name? Wouldn't the name still be readable? Ah, whatever.
Ed Norton comes down. Ralph asks him to remember the names of the people in the movie. When Ed gets down to Lana Truner, he asks Ralph to keep on going while he still is thinking about Lana. Ha! The movie theatre is a block or so away, so Ed looks out the window to see the names. Alice: "Be careful Ed. You might fall out." Ralph: "That is a chance we got to take." Gee, Ralh's a great friend, isn't he. (Note the sarcasm.) Ed can't read all the star's names because Grogan's boxer shorts are in his way. A policeman comes in. The policeman says to cut out the racket or the story will have to be told to the judge. Ralph: "That's it! Alene Judge, that's her name." Ed goes home and the policeman leaves. Ralph and Alice kiss.
Episode #27
TV: Attached to "Double Anniversary."
VCR: Attached to "Stand-In For Murder."
DVD: Attached to "A Weighty Problem," "Lost Baby," & "Man In The Blue Suit."
Alice comes home and since it was raining out, she puts her shoes in the stove to let them dry. Trixie comes down and Alice says she went out to buy curtains. Trixie says the only reason why she doesn't buy any more curtains is that Ed kept on using them as towels. Ha! Trixie leaves.
Ralph comes home and complains about the lunch that Alice made for him. He said that not only was it inedible, there also wasn't enough of it. Ralph: "What did you try to do, make Exhibit A in a murder case?" Ralph says that the lunch was so bad that the lunchbox got heartburn. Ha! Alice says she got the idea for Ralph's lunch from a mystery chef. Ralph: "If he cooks that way, no wonder he wants to keep his identity a secret." Ralph says that the human body is like a machine and it needs fuel so Alice says that next time she will give him a lump of coal. Ralph reveals what Fred has for lunch that is so large it would qualify as lunch and dinner. Ralph wonders where all his fat went. Alice says: "Up there in the brain, fathead."
Ralph orders that his dinner to be made. Alice is so mad that she won't cook dinner. She goes upstairs to Trixie's. She leaves. Ralph tries to cook dinner. He gets a can and opens it with a can opener and reads the instructions: "Empty contents and add a can of water." Ralph does that and after that he notices something strange about those instructions. The crowd laughs as he does this. Ralph thinking about what he did says that he's going nuts.
Ed Norton comes down. Ed says that Alice is mad. Ed says he is tired of eating peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. Trixie doesn't make them, Ed does. Ed notices that the oven is hot, so Ed opens it and Ralph finds Alice's shoes in there. Ralph, as usual, jumps the gun. Ed: "Maybe Alice didn't have enough money to buy food." Ralph calls Alice down. Ed says that Ralph probably had a pair of socks for lunch. Ralph says to Ed that if he sees a man in a white coat, that he should run because it ain't the Good Humor Man. Ralph says woman our on the way out so Ed says: "Which way did they go?"
Alice comes down. Ralph asks why were the shoes in the oven? Alice: "What did you think it was, your dinner?" Ralph: "After today, I won't be surprised. Why not? Tonight, we can have oven-baked wedgies. Tomorrow, we can have slippers and Sunday we can have roasted sneakers." Ed leaves. Alice explains why the shoes were in the oven. Frank comes in and reveals that his and Ralph's lunches were switched. Frank reveals that what Alice cooked was great. D'oh! Ralph made a mistake. Frank leaves. Ralph apologies to Alice.
