The Weinstein Co. has optioned the feature rights to Gerald Clarke's "Get Happy: the Life of Judy Garland."
Clarke's biography of Truman Capote served as the basis for Dan Futterman's Oscar-nominated "Capote" script.

"Get Happy," published in 2000, details how the actress and singer was plagued by personal problems and mistreated by employers, family and lovers.

Garland died in 1969 at the age of 47.

Wonder how this will compare to ABC's miniseries treatment that aired a few years back with Tammy Blanchard (as young Judy) and Judy Davis (as older Judy)? that was a great one, IMO.

Cool beans:cool: . What a tragedy her life turned out to be. MGM treated her like dump, jacked her up with speed so she can work 72 hours a day and then have her on sleeping pills to help her sleep because she was so wired on speed, her mom was a nightmare of a stage parent, you do the math from here. Poor thing!!!:(
