Is it me, or do many of my threads keep disappearing??? Like the one I did yesterday about the "Terminator 4" rant. I can't find it anywhere. I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone.

It looks like your thread was merged into the chit-chat movies forum with the same topic started by JamesG.

Threads disappearing? Was there more than one thread in question? Your thread was moved to the correct forum and merged with one of the same topic. Whatever thread was made first stays dominant. You can check to see where your threads/posts are by going to your profile and clicking on your posts link. You can also PM the moderator of that forum and ask, listed at the bottom right of every forum, as opposed to making a thread about it.

Why is it that Janice always has to explain when she simply moderates. What other site can you make a thread stating that your threads keeps disappearing, when it's not true? Janice is a moderator, actually an Administrator. She merged two threads that were the same topic, and then she has to explain herself. She makes decisions and shouldn't be second guessed. If she wanted to, she could have made a thread telling you to post in the right forum, but she didn't. Instead, she just quietly did her job, and still got questioned, with an accusatory tone at that.

brownie87 probably thought what he posted was correct. I think he was just confused about what had happened to his thread and thought it had been deleted or something.

Oh...I see...sorry about the confusion.

That's when you leave the original thread locked for a short time with an explanation as not to cause this confusion.

As much as I love this board, sometimes you guys have odd mod skills.

That doesn't make any sense. What are the mods supposed to do...wait until the OP shows up ? What happens if they still don't see the note? It's very easy to find where your posts are. You go to your posts from your profile page and look it up. If it's not there then you can pm a moderator to find out what happened. It's as simple as that. Their's no need to make a federal case over it.

Janice explained how to find your own posts, There's no need to explain why threads are moved or merged.

The mods know what they're doing, People need to familiarize themselves with the search feature.

People shouldn't keep questioning what Janice does. She knows what she is doing.

Yeah, I don't get it myself. Nobody seems to question the other mods or admins here. I've had threads moved myself, but they're easy to find and easy to understand why it got moved or combined. I don't know about other forums because this is the only one I'm a part of, but I don't think an explanation is necessary. If that were the case, she'd be spending more time explaining herself than moderating the board.

I don't think brownie87 was questioning the moderation of the boards. I think he was just confused. ekkostar was, though, but I'm not sure he/she was singling Janice out.

In any case, though, the moderators usually do what they do for a good reason. I'm sure they've made mistakes in the past but I've always found Janice to be a good moderator on Chit Chat.

Actually I agree Michelle - it was more ekkostar's post than anything since they've been a member for a while whereas brownie87 is a new member and was asking a legitimate question. Although had it been me, I would have sent a PM to inquire about it.

Wow, that's brilliant! Punish the original poster for posting on the correct forum. :lightb: Maybe I could find a gadget that wires me up to this site, and when when the original poster finally returns, I get an electric jolt. I can then explain everything, merge the threads, and everyone's happy.
