Mine was Interview With the Vampire, back in 1994. My best friend was 16, I was 15. She looked older, which got us both in. She was a big Brad Pitt fan, which explains why my second R-rated movie in the theater was Legends of the Fall a couple of months later.

Technically it was Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), I was 7. Uncle took me.

The first one I went on my own was Saving Private Ryan (1998) at 13.

PORKY'S......I remember how when they were doing the "Mike Hunt" gag in the movie, everyone around me was laughing hysterically, and I sat there wondering what the heck was so funny!!!

A friend of mine snuck into Flashdance when it was first shown in the theaters back in '83.

That's cool. At seven years old I was too young to see Flashdance in the theater. However, when it was released in December '83 on video and my mom and dad rented it, they allowed me to watch it with them.

I saw Beverly Hills Cop II with my parents in 1987 when I was 11.

I can't remember the first one I saw in the theatre. But one of the first I ever saw was Die Hard. (if not the first)

I think it was "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER" with John Travolta when it first came out, back in 1977-I say first came out because it was re-realeased in a watered-down version in 1979.

That would have been the Godfather (the first one). I remember going downtown with my parents to see it. I guess I would have been 12 or so. Great movie!!

I've seen the PG version and I know what you mean. Travolta's performance is still great as is the Bee Gees' music, but the movie loses its grittiness and edge when "watered-down".

I've only seen the R-rated version - which I checked out of the library back in 1997. I was expecting a movie to be mostly just disco dancing and the Bee Gees - so I was really taken aback after watching the whole thing.  Wow!!

It's a great urban drama. Very, very gritty. However, I think like you many people go into it expecting something else. Like maybe a disco version of Grease.

I have to admit that's what I thought when I watched it for the first time. I don't think I'd ever since so much cussing and nudity in a movie before.

Mine was "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas" with Dolly Parton when it came out in 1982. I was 12 at the time. Lots of nudity in that movie, too.
