Stallone To Bring Rambo Back
29 January 2009 2:00 PM, PST
Sylvester Stallone is bringing back Rambo for another big screen outing. The action man was suitably impressed with the success of his 2008 film, Rambo, and now he's scouting for locations for a fifth movie.
He says, "We're doing another Rambo, but the conflict is whether to do it in America or a foreign country.”
His all-action 2008 movie was largely shot in Thailand.

Oh come on people, Rambo (2008) was AWESOME!!
Pure 90 minutes of senseless violence, what more can an action fan ask for?
Here's to hoping Rambo V is bloodier...:D

Just asking, did any of you who are making these jabs see Rambo (2008)? It was actually quite impressive and a come-back for Stallone; that he can still pull this off good at 60.
Ford got the age jokes for Indy 4, Stallone got it for Rambo/ROCKY, Bruce Willis got it for Live Free or Die Hard; so I guess seeing dumb age jokes are to be expected.
I don't mean to start no argument but I wanted to know if any of you know what you're talking about? Go watch the latest Rambo and you will see why some folks are pleased another one is being made.
I'm curious and eager to see how this one will go...

^ We're just teasing. Rocky Balboa was very good - I'm not into the Rambo flicks.

I can see that lol. I'm not mad or anything at all, just wanted to know if the teasing was merited by RAMBO haters or just people jabbing for the sake of it.
When you say "not into" do you mean you saw them and didn't care for it or you are just not interested in seeing them?

The latter. That genre isn't really my thing.

Fair enough.
But I must recommend that you check out the first film First Blood. It's not an over-the-top, shoot-em up type film as the next three are. It's about Rambo, a Vietnam vet who comes home and how he is mistreated by the police in some hick town for being a drifter. After he escapes from custody after fighting his way out of jail he is the target of a manhunt.
His army captain comes to the aide and tries to convice Rambo to stop; who is suffering from PTSD.
The novel it is based on, First Blood, is an excellent read too.

^My jab JamesG, was at Sly, for keeping on making movies in franchises that should have ended. At this time, he could be doing very interesting character parts.

I agree with Jude The Obscure. Sylvester is too old to still be doing Rocky and Rambo movies. I wish he would stop making them. I saw the last Rocky and the last Rambo and i liked them but enough is enough. Do something else Sylvester damn LOL. I heard he wanted to do a remake of Charles Bronson's Death Wish movie.

A remake of Death Wish sounds just dumb...
But back to Rambo, I'm very curious to see how this fifth one will go.
From the ending of the last one we see Rambo finally come back to the United States to see his father. From this happening this what I would like to see...
Rambo finally decides to lay down his guns and make peace with himself. It relates back to First Blood when he came back from the war only to find there was war at home too and he couldn't adjust to being a civilian.
Now Rambo finally is ready to come out of recluse and come back home. Maybe he can find the sheriff and other officers he almost killed in the first one and have a reunion.
It doesn't have to be a bloodbath like the last one to be good. If I was making the film that's what I would like to see Rambo V be.
But from the way it sounds that they are scouting locations it's going to be another war film on foreign soil.
We'll see how it goes and judge then.
