Penny's Last Name

I have noticed that in the two seasons that I have been watching The Big Bang Theory is that Penny's last name has never been mentioned. Tom me, this is a mystery like the families on Malcolm in the Middle and According to Jim, both whose last names have not been revealed.

I think this is going to be a running thing in the show. She is the only regular that has not had her last name revealed. However, Leonard does know her last name. Remember, he got her mail.

I have a funny feeling we are going to not find out her last name for the entire series. Sort of a running, silent gag.

I, personally, prefer "Lane". What they should do is have a contest to vote online to give Penny a last name. :)
