Actually, I remember when "Family" started and my mom was telling me about the young boy they had on the show - turned out it was Kristy! LOL

She was rather tomboyish until she hit puberty and then did blossom into a very pretty gal. Too bad the manic depression wasn't addressed and treated before it was and she left Hollywood for good.

As for the manic depression, I give her kudos for putting her health above Hollywood and leaving the limelight to take care of herself. I wish her much happiness wherever she is now.

:lol: - I think a lot of girls felt that way. That's why she was so popular - guys loved her and she was likeable to females also because she was down to earth and sweet. Not that Kristy wasn't sweet too, but not like Valerie. You wanted to be Valerie's friend if you were a chick and her boyfriend if you were a guy.

I remember when she married Eddie and you know how young girls are - they hate the girl that gets the guy they have a crush on. With me, I thought, well if I couldn't have him (which was a major lottery shot anyway), then I'm glad she got him at least. And when they were young, they looked almost like brother and sister with their hair and all. I had hoped they'd have more kids, but now that we know what was going on in private, it's no wonder they didn't.

As it turns out even Valerie got into the coke pretty good herself. They ended up a mess. Meanwhile the whole time I thought they really had it together.

Just shows that we never really know the truth about a couple unless they open up about it to the public.

I still can't help to like Eddie though and feel sorry for him in a way.
