Mine:
.) Call Me Crazy - Lee Ann Womack. Four years ago I couldn't stand this woman, but now I'm quite a big fan. I really didn't think she would ever be able to top her last album, but I can officially say I enjoy this one even more. I can't say enough good things about it. I recommend it to any fan of country music.
.) Sleepless Nights - Patty Loveless. I have been a Patty fan for the majority of my life, and this album was no disappointment. She returned to her roots here, and it earned her a Grammy nomination for Country Album of the Year.
.) Detours - Sheryl Crow. This is a bit of a mixed album for me. The strong songs are VERY strong, and the weak strongs are VERY weak. Thankfully, the strong songs outweigh the weak ones. Although I'd probably rank it as my least favorite Sheryl album, I still love it and listen to it frequently. However, I'd have to say that Gasoline has to be one of the worst songs ever recorded!
.) E=MC^2 - Mariah Carey. I really do enjoy this album, and it's still such a huge improvement over the Glitter/Charmbracelet days, but I don't think I can call it better than the Mimi album. At first I thought I liked it more, but months after its release it doesn't hold up as well. I think the reason for that is the faster songs on this album are superior to those on Mimi, but the ballads are much weaker. To me, Mariah is at her best with ballads, and that's where this album is lacking.
.) Funhouse - Pink. As a massive Pink fan, I was looking forward to this for months. I really, really like it, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. I hate to admit it, but it is quite lacking compared to her last three albums.
