What do you do with your old CDs?

Keep them? Sell them? Trade? Hide? Showcase them? Stick 'em on the end of a dremel?

It depends. If they're in good condition and a factory-made CD, I usually take them to a Record Exchange. If they're in bad shape or home made, I shred them.

I'm a pack rat and I like to hold on to all of my CDs because I love collecting music. DVDs are usually what I sell and trade when I find I don't like them anymore.

I have sold all the ones I didn't really care about. All the others are stacked up on my dresser and some are in a box in the closet. I hardly ever listen to them anymore cause they are all riped onto my computer.

That's what I do. In my case, I take the factory made ones to Half Price Books. Otherwise, I'll give a few of them away.

I'm a pack rat too and I love seeing complete discographies sitting on my shelves. I've got more than a few that I'd like to get rid of though. I chose poorly a couple of times back in the days of "12 for the price of 1" music clubs. ;)

Even though I was given one of the first iPods, I still listen to my CDs. Heck, I still have all my old vinyl albums from the 70s, so for sure I've still got my CDs - even cassettes! LOL

No matter what, you still lose something with MP3 compression so I like it as pure as possible. Actually, I miss the old sound on the vinyl records - there was a different feeling about the music with those. It makes me mad too that you can't buy the "albums" as they were originally made. When they put them on CD, the chop and move around the songs so it's not like you remembered them on the original.
