Officially on record, NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain's death is officially a suicide; by self-inflicted shotgun shot.

However, there has been many speculation by fans and investigators that the death wasn't a cut and dry case of a suicide. I am also aware that Unsolved Mysteries had a little segment about his death.

I was just wondering, do you think Kurt's death was a straight forward suicide or do you think there was some sort of foul play involved? By foul play I don't necessarily mean murder but do you think he was alone or not, do you think someone knew about it and didn't report it in... etc?

What would you say?

I personally think it was a suicide, but I know there are a few suspicious things going on with that assessment. For one, Cobain shot up a substantial dose of heroin to the point that he would not have been able to hold a gun steady. There was also the rumor that Courtney Love hired a hit man, Il Duce of the shock-metal band The Mentors to do the killing since "Kurt was causing trouble". Some people suggest her motive was to get his money, and since he felt like dropping out of the music scene, she felt it wasn't going to bring in the wealth she depended on. Some people insist there are inconsistencies going on with his suicide note as well. It's hard to know what to think about all that, unless some new evidence comes up, it's hard to say for sure. Cobain was a major figure, and he was very troubled, so I go with the claims that it was suicide, as do his bandmates and other musicians.

About ten years ago, at work, we had this one character working there who had his own public access t.v. show called "Kurt Cobain Was Murdered". The guy's name was Richard Lee, who was an infamous figure in Seattle. I always wondered why he acted so unsociable, and why he always spent time gazing into our computer screens at work, nearly pressing his face to the glass. Then when I actually caught his show, he was trying to look creepy and ominous, this big omnipresent face on the t.v. screen, and he just looked dorky. ohno: I only kept it on for a few seconds. There were a few twisted individuals on local public access, and he was one of them. I never liked him nor talked to him, he was too strange and combative with co-workers and staff at work. Last I read, he was involved in some altercations with police and even tried to run for mayor of Seattle!! He tries to pass himself off as some sort of investigative reporter. He's probably one of the reasons why I take the "Cobain was murdered" theories with a little grain of salt.

There will always be Courtneygate. I don't doubt that she probably was involved in her death in some way. They were both very messed up individuals strung out on drugs.

I am not sure....I am a bigg fan of Kurt and Courtneys and have read many books on the subject and there will always be stories and rumors swirling around...I know that he said in many interviews that he was really depressed and didnt want all that hollywood bull...so maybe he was depressed enough to end it all...but on the same token he also was sooo happy to be a dad and would do anything for his daughter Frances Bean...I mean would he want to do this to her...I do think Courtney knows more than she has let on...but anything is possible.

I don't think it was a suicide. But it's hard to say if Courtney was involved in some way. I think maybe knew someone wanted to hurt him but kept it to herself. She hired a private investigator before Kurt's death.
