Actress Christina Applegate is still mourning the loss of her ex Lee Grivas, four months after he died from an apparent drug overdose.

The Anchorman star reveals she learned of Grivas' death as she was preparing for breast cancer surgery and, in many ways, the sad news was more painful than the fact she was about to lose her breasts in a mastectomy. She explains, "I think that was more difficult and more painful than anything else. It still is a lot of the time."

Grivas, an aspiring photographer, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on July 1st, aged just 26

I really feel for her. She's had an extremely rough year for sure. Hopefully she'll get through this somehow.

Christina Applegate has really earned my respect this past year. What a strong woman she is!! I hope and pray she'll be able to get through this.

Me too. I never really thought about her much (wasn't a huge fan of Married...) but she's handled herself with such grace and dignity. I guess I figured because of her character on Married she was a bit of a flake, and could have well taken the path of drugs and alcohol, but she's sure proven she isn't like that at all.

In a sense, she's gone thru what Heath's ex has, PLUS the cancer. That has to be brutal.

Same here - I've never cared for MWC myself. With all she's been through this year, it would be easy to give up. So far she hasn't. I wish her nothing but the best!!

Well said, Monika! I think Christina Applegate is a very pretty and sweet lady who deserves a much better future!
