Battle in Seattle (http://www.movietrailerlive.com/ct_0005_BattleinSeattle) is the Hollywood dramatization of the real 1999 WTO protests in Seattle. The movie stars Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, and Charlize Theron...

In December 1999 the media covered the protests against the World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting in Seattle, but most people had no idea how violent this event really was...

Do protests have to be violent to get noticed?

I couldn't believe that they actually made a movie about this crap! I remember watching it on TV when it occurred and thinking "Oh My God... this can't be happening." What a nightmare!

for the most part yes. non violent protests usually amount to nothing, and even gandhi's protests led to violence.

generally, i think protesters are dumb.

good review here on the flick though. (http://movielooker.com/?p=12)

well, it has Channing Tatum in it, so I have some interest (he's the guard holding the gun in the second pic)
