Word as of now is that George Clooney has shown a lot of interest in the role of the Lone Ranger, and the studio's been talking to him about it. Previously it was rumored that Nic Cage was up for the role, but that rumor died a long time ago. Clooney's name has come up quite a number of times since.

That's interesting. I can't really picture him (or Nicholas Cage for that matter!) as the Lone Ranger!

Clooney is a good actor, but you'd think after Batman And Robin, he'd avoid suiting up for any type of famous iconic mask characters like it was a plague.

This is true, but it is no secret that it was really Joel Schumacher who killed that franchise.

Johnny Depp, he was already cast. :)
I really think Nicolas Cage should take a break for a while.
The critics are still laughing about Bangkok Dangerous.
Clooney as the Lone Ranger?
Him and Depp would make an interesting team.
