A Different World was a Cosby Show spin-off, with Lisa Bonet
reprising her role as Denise Huxtable.
The following long-running, hit sit-coms had no spin-offs:
The Honeymooners (15 seasons, incl. The Jackie Gleason Show)
The Danny Thomas Show (13 seasons)
My Three Sons (12 seasons)
Father Knows Best (9 seasons)
The Donna Reed Show (8 seasons)
The George Burns & Gracie Allen Show (8 seasons)
All of these shows ran for eight seasons or more. The fact that they are all
from the 1950s is probably no coincidence; repetition didn't set in until the
1960s.

Depends on how one defines a spin-off. Danny Thomas Show gave birth to Andy Griffith in the same way Happy Days gave birth to Laverne and Shirley and Mork and Mindy.

Not to contradict you at all, but was "That 80's Show" considered a spin-off? I know it didn't last very long.
A very successful show that definitely didn't have a spin off was "Seinfeld". I could see the possibility of one, but I'm glad they never went this route.

Exactly. And then there was another one called "Mona," of course spinning off the Mona character with her helping her brother run his hotel or something like that.
I'm not sure which one actually made it to series, though. I know Katherine Helmond left WTB for the end of a season to start her own show, but I"m not sure if it ever made it to air.

Thankyou Monika! I knew whichever one made it to air only lasted a few weeks, but I wasn't sure which one it was.
Yeah, the producers had the idea for a Mona spinoff. The actual pilot was a WTB episode, where they all go to visit Mona's brother at his hotel, and Mona decides to stay awhile and help him out. It must not have made it to air, though, which is a good thing, because Mona was a main reason I watched WTB-LOL

"Beverly Hills, 90210" spun-off "Melrose Place"
"Melrose Place" spun-off "Models Inc.,"

"party Of five" spun-off "Time Of Your Life"

Out of the Blue is technically a quasi spinoff of HD, since the character of Random the angel appeared on the Chachi Sells His Soul to the Devil's Nephew episode. Mork, the character, made an appearance on the first episode of Out of the Blue as a drawing card, so to speak.

Would "Smart Guy" be considered a spin-off of "Sister, Sister" or did the character of smart guy not ever appear on Sister, Sister? i know that Tajh Mowry is Tia and Tamera's brother and may have appeared at least once on SS but may have played a different character. And know that i think of it, didn't Tia and Tamera once appear on "Full House" as "Teddy's Sisters" in what amounts to a cameo? in the episode where Michelle runs away and wants to live at Teddy's house?
Good point - I wouldn't consider it a spinoff, but the character did appear on Sister Sister before Smart Guy. Still, it was just a one-time appearance, and it was never mentioned again in both shows.
