Al Gore and George W. Bush will learn
that they're not the first candidates locked in a neck-and-neck battle for the
Presidency when Nick at Nite presents "Too Close To Call" -- a special
two-hour look at some of the most divisive Presidential elections in sitcom
history. From Lucy and Ethel's intense rivalry for presidency of the Women's
Club on "I Love Lucy" to Marcia and Greg's historic run for office -- which
eventually lead to a house divided -- on "The Brady Bunch," Nick at Nite
viewers can see the real behind-the-scenes struggle for power from 10 PM
(ET/PT) to Midnight on Friday, November 17th.
"Too Close to Call" will present four half-hour sitcoms that pit
characters against one another in the quest for the Presidency. On "The Brady
Bunch," Marcia and Greg vie for the highest office in the class, quickly
resulting in a bi-partisan Brady household. Long before the 2000 Presidential
election, Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz were locked in a battle to be president
of the Women's Club on "I Love Lucy." When the election results in a tie, the
best friends will stop at nothing to sway the deciding ballot. On The"
Jeffersons," George and Louise (not to be confused with Thomas and Martha
Jefferson) duke it out for the presidency of their building's tenants
association. Lastly, on "The Wonder Years," Kevin finds out that nice guys do
finish last...when the opponent is none other than Becky Slater!
"One of the greatest things about the United States is that you really can
grow up to be President...of something," explains Cyma Zarghami, Executive
Vice President & General Manager, Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite. "Some of the
greatest sitcoms on television have used Presidential campaigns to explore the
funny side of election campaigns. With everything going on in the bid for the
White House, Nick at Nite thinks the country can truly learn something from
television's mist intense sitcom elections."

Nick at Nite's Too Close To Call block will air as follows:

10p "The Brady Bunch"
#11 -- Vote for Brady
Greg and Marcia compete for class president and the election campaign
carries over into the Brady house with the other kids taking sides.

10:30p "I Love Lucy"
#54 -- Club Election
Pitted against each other in the race for the presidency of their women's
club, Lucy and her best friend Ethel, try to wangle the deciding vote by
devious means, while their husbands map a campaign to have them both
defeated.

11p "The Jeffersons"
#233 -- A House Divided
George resorts to a smear - campaign to undermine the candidacy of his
opponent in the race for president of the tenants' council, but his
actions can only lead to disaster as his opponent turns out to be his
wife, Louise.

11:30p "Wonder Years"
#56 -- The Candidate
Kevin ends up as Becky Slater's rival in the race for class president.
His "nice guy" campaign quickly transforms into a battle of wits and dirty
politics.
