I know that the topic sounds a little morbid, but were you disappointed when someone you knew from the media passed on and you did not get the chance to meet them face to face?
For me it would be the following:
Nell Carter(Actress)
Tammy Faye Bakker(Televagelist)
Teresa Graves (Actress)
Wendie Jo Sperber (Actress)
Ruth Warrick (Actress)
Gregory Hines (Actor/Singer/Dancer)
Carroll O' Connor (Actor)
Isabelle Sanford (Actress)
Luther Vandross (Singer)
What about you guys?

Bill Bixby. Not that I ever had an opportunity; I wasn't even a fan until after his death, but it would have been nice to at least have the chance to write a fan letter now.

He's not an A-lister or that well-known at all, but Michael Cuccione (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Cuccione). He was part of that MTV spoof boy band 2Gether, who had their own TV movie, series, and CD in 2000. He was only three years older than me and he was only 16 when he passed away in 2001. So sad. :crying:

OMFG 2Ge+her. Evan Farmer was in that group too... I only know of this group and Evan, because Evan was on a TV show on TLC for a couple of years a few years ago... While You Were Out. Omg... what a babelicious guy.
Anyway, that is so sad about Michael. :( I see he passed away a week after his b-day, to boot. Oh man.
i never met harvey korman but i did see him in person at a taping of the merv griffin show
Tim & Harvey came to perform at a festival in a town 1.5 hours away from me back in late 2006... I was going to go, but I got diagnosed with mono like two weeks before they were scheduled to appear. So I ended up not being able to go. :( Bummer.

The Three Stooges
I had a chance to meet Moe in the 70's. He was making an appearance at one of our local theaters, and I wanted to go but my mom wouldn't drive me there. It was too far to ride my bike and there was no other way to get there. My mom was really weird about having to drive us anywhere. She would rather have us walk along a busy highway to get somewhere than to just drive us someplace that was just a 5 minute drive.
Lucille Ball
Me, too
John Denver
Ditto. Would you believe I was listening to one of John's CDs the day before he died?
Elvis Presley(my dad's best friend got to meet him, I don't know what year, but he said Elvis was very nice)
John Ritter
Princess Diana
John F. Kennedy, Jr
Freddie Mercury(also regret never seeing Queen live in concert, either!! Well, I mean with Freddie)
Michael Hutchence(lead singer of INXS)(I got to meet the rest of the guys from INXS that night, and the next time I saw INXS, Michael came down into the audience and was only 4 seats away from me!! Still never got close to him!! Then about 6 months later, he died):(

I know that photo's from "My Cousin Vinny". He had the funniest line in that movie "Well, that would explain the hostility!" I'm not going to go into the whole scene where that line came from, but those who've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about!!

I thought about posting that scene, too, because is a classic scene! Whenever "My Cousin Vinny" is being advertised on TV, they always use that scene.
Funny thing is, Jonathan Lynn, who directed "MCV", is British, and had no idea how well-known Fred Gwynne was in the states, before he was cast in MCV. Apparently, they never showed The Munsters in the UK!!

I'd also love to have met Linda McCartney. What a fascinating life she led - she had such a wonderful marriage to Paul, yet she carved out her own careers outside of Wings (photography, vegetarian frozen meals, cookbook writing). She made her own wealth, and yet still seemed like such a cool lady that you could hang out with and have fun with.

Dan Blocker
I have to say a few words here about Dan Blocker. His death deeply affected
both my mother and myself. He was so different from the role that made him
famous. He was much more than Hoss Cartwright. He was a highly educated
man (he had been a school teacher). He was like Hoss in that he was a gentle giant of a man with a heart as big as outdoors. An example is a well-
kept secret: Dan Blocker was the anonymous founder of Guyot Foundation
Home for Girls, in Los Angeles, California. It was not revealed until after his
death that the actor had founded the haven for unwed mothers, unwanted
girls and young women addicted to drugs or alcohol. Mrs. Rosa Guyot said,
"Dan never wanted any publicity connecting him with the home. But if it
wasn't for him, many young girls' lives would have been destroyed completely.
Dan liked young people and was aware of their problems."
Dan quietly helped others, too. He never turned away a friend in need. He
became involved with college students doing ecology research in Northern
California and only asked those he helped one favor, "Please don't tell anyone
that I am involved." That's the kind of guy he was. A big man with a big, big
heart.

I wish I could have met Lloyd Bridges - one of the most down-to-earth people I've ever seen. He was a person who'se job HAPPENED TO BE as an actor. He was no 'stuck-up celebrity' like you see now. Even when he was doing "Sea Hunt" he cared a lot about the environment and about the oceans (in fact, that's one of the stories about how that show ended - Lloyd wanted to do stories about how our oceans were being messed up (even in 1960 and '61!) by big oil and other polluters, but one of the show's primary sponsors was an oil company so, of course, the producer said 'no', and he quit).
I also would have liked to have met Elizabeth Montgomery. She, too seemed to be a rather down-to-earth person with no celebrity hangups.
