View Full Version : How did we ever survive before Facebook?
Just tried logging in and I got this: Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Seriously, I've only had Facebook for a little over a year, but the thought of being without it repulses me. Kind of pathetic, eh?

We? I'm glad you're enjoying facebook but I've survived just fine without it or myspace. All three of my brothers have myspace accounts but I have no interest. I wouldn't be surprised if they had facebook accounts as well.

i'm the same way with myspace. i kind of hate it but i've developed a huge dependency on my blog because i have so many subscribers, which enables me to make myself heard when i need to get thoughts out.

I like Facebook a lot too, mainly because it allows me to connect with people that I am close to. I see why some people aren't interested, but I personally enjoy it.
However, I do not like the new Facebook layout either and it seems like they may soon be disabling the "old" layout altogether and switching entirely to the new one. I hope they change their minds and leave people the option of using the old layout if they prefer.
I'm really liking the facebook. The new layout is okay IMO although lots of my friends don't like it.
I'm enjoying getting back in touch with folks from my New Jersey days. It's also fun to pesonalize and add to.

I never joined facebook. I'm content right now with myspace. I did have someone somehow convince me to join something called fanbox, and now I apparentely have 10 million loyal fans. Atleast I know what it's like to be a real famous person though. The average famous person doesn't personally know 99.9 percent of their fans either. lol!!

I like Facebook over Myspace because it actually recognizes the high school I graduated from and I've run into dozens of classmates I haven't even thought about in a decade. Myspace didn't even recognize the high school i went to. Plus I have relatives who use Facebook but don't use Myspace

Yep - I joined Facebook just under a year ago. MySpace is too "busy" - seems like too much maintenance. I'm not really hooked on it yet, but do enjoy searching for people I hope to contact again.

Oh man. My friend found this out, but if you go to the bottom of the page to change the language settings, there's an option at the bottom of the list that says English (Pirate) and everything on facebook is in pirate lingo. It's hilarious.

I use both MySpace and Facebook. Most of my friends from high school and people in my neighborhood use MySpace and most of my friends from college use Facebook. I check each a couple of times a day. MySpace and Facebook help make it easier to keep in touch with people.
I had MySpace for three and a half years, but got rid of it a few weeks ago, because I took exception to the true.com ads. I had been getting a constant barrage of them for over a year.

facebook doesn't even have my college listed. i spent months trying to sign up and if i'm interpreting my memory correctly, i couldn't do it at first because it didn't recognize my college. kept saying something like my email address wasn't on any college network or something. even if i'm mistaken about the reason, it sure was an unneeded pain in the ass.

They didn't have my college listed until about a year ago (I've been on Facebook for almost 3 years now), and I got on just fine with my school email address. There should be somewhere on facebook where you can send in a request for them to add your college as a network.
