When me and another person dont agree on a subject and I want to agree to disagree, and that person wants to turn that topic into a whole big debate, I hate that.
Also when you tell someone that you dont share their tastes in music, movies, etc. and they go out of their way to prove that you are wrong and try to convert you to their tastes.
People wearing their pants all pulled down, I dont want to look at your ass!!!!!
People who intentionally use bad grammar and think thats cool.
People yacking on their cell phones while in line or at the checkout counter. Can't your call wait.
The people who work at checkout and never acknowledge you, even when you are polite and courteous to them. Dont know why that bothers me but it does.
People who make assumptions that if you are a certain, race or color you are supposed to behave in some sort of way.
People who based other people on stereotypes they saw on television (hence white people assuming black people all behave the way rappers do in their videos).
People who call a three month old record "a classic". A three month old record is not a classic yet.
What are yours?

Seems a couple of yours are the same as mine!!
Whenever a person is talking loudly on their cell right near me, I just want to stand right next to them and scream in their ear while they're on there phone and scare the crap out of them.
And I have no tolerance for bad customer service, and like you said, especially when I'm as nice as can be and you're being an a$$ back to me, like I'm an inconvenience.I've actually told people they need to find another line of work because their customer service skills suck!!
Another pet peeve is people who judge you by the way you look. I used to be rather heavy and have recently lost a bit of weight and it amazes me how different people are towards me now.
People who interrupt you when you're talking.
Men who call women "bitches" just because you're in a bad mood once in a while. What, one can't be in a bad mood? I've encountered many men who were in bad moods, too. So what can I call you? A bitch, too?

People with no common sense. Of all the idiots in the world, these morons are the worst.
Black people who on one hand go on and on about wanting to be treated equal, but then do practically everything they can to prove otherwise. They always loooovvvvve to use the race card. Stop calling attention to your color. I wouldn't care a thing about it if you didn't constantly remind everyone of it.
Hypocrites like the one lady I work with. She loves to police everyone else when she's the one breaking all the rules.
People who argue opinions.
People who can't drive with any courtesy.

My biggest pet peeve has to be people who hog two or more parking spaces. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGH!!!! That drove me crazy even BEFORE I started driving. People who don't use their signals. People who weave. Basically my pet peeves all have to do with driving.   I also HATE that you can't go anywhere these days (church and libraries included) without someone's cell phone going off and people constantly yakking away. I don't want to hear your stupid conversation!! :angryfire

Those people are stupid. They are obviously doing it to prevent door dents or whatever, but there's nothing that makes people want to key your car more than drawing attention to the fact that you think your car is hot ****. If you don't want door dents, either park out a ways or drive something else.

i hate that too! or if you are in a bad mood, they always ask "you're pmsing aren't you?" you can't be having a bad day without being on your period?
just to name a few, some of mine are...
smoking cigarettes. especially when people just smoke right in front of you & don't bother to ask if you're okay with it. don't even get me started on smoking weed...
poor spelling & grammar annoy me.
being lied to.
people who like to talk crap about others behind their backs but they don't have the balls to say anything to anyone's faces.

The fact that, after the end of this year, Verizon is going to be the only one servicing this area (we also have Alltel), and their plans SUCK. I have a smartphone now, and I had to PAY to download it to my phone, because I cannot get AIM or MSN for free on it (I can, however, download Yahoo IM for it - BIG WHOOPEE. I don't ****ing use YIM!). Verizon can apparently install Mobile IM on lower-end phones with QWERTY keyboards, but when I have a *real* smartphone *with* a QWERTY keyboard, all they can give me is Blackberry Messenger.
Sorry, that's more of a rant than a pet peeve... it's just that I've been having issues with the mobile IM program on my phone, and I'm about to fling my phone at the makers of the stupid IM program.
I've got a few more but BLAH. I don't want to type them out now.

Not all black people do that
My pet peeves would have to be....
Closed mindedness
Immaturity in Adults
People who think that they are superior than others
Men who think that they can just speak to a woman any kind of way
Kids who curse out their parents
People who talk at you and not to you
Racist

Never said they did. Nowhere did I say "all black people." I'm sure there are many that don't care what color they are.
The ones I'm refering to are the ones who cry racism when there is none there. My dad worked with a guy that did that a lot. He figured he could get away with doing nothing at work simply because he was black and his white bosses couldn't fire him because he was black. And sadly, he did get away with it. ohno:

People who jump to conclusions (usually wrong).
People with sour dispositions.
Defensive and/or smug people.
Know-it-alls.
Products that are sold upside down, like ketchup, shampoo, creams. Drives me nuts.
Cashiers who chatter away to their co-workers while checking out my grocery order.

It is just the way you worded it that (to me) made it seem as you were talking about in general that black people think that way. I've heard other races who has done it as well...It is a pet peeve of mine when some black people say that others are holding them back.

You're not alone! I work retail, and it drives me absolutely bonkers when I have to stock these. Especially shampoos. Pantene is notorious for this, and I'd love to beat the geniuses who came up with the idea of doing so.
Also, oddly-shaped packaging irks me (A-HEM, Swiffer, I'm looking at you.).
Let's not forget shrinking packaging where prices remain the same, so you're paying more for less product.

Oh yeah, I hate when there's one line forming, and it's getting long, and you've been waiting a bit. Then they open another register, and the cashier says that she's open and the people that were waiting behind you and waiting less time than you were go running over to the other line. What they should say is I'll take the next person in line. Still people don't get it and they're still try to go ahead of you.
I mentioned bad customer service before -
When the cashier is either talking to the bag boy while she's ringing up your order(this happens at our local supermarket)
or if the cashier knows the person behind you in line and is busy yakking it up while she's ringing my order up. I always pay attention to what she's ringing up as to not overcharge me.
As you can see, I don't have the best of shopping experiences!!

humans. ick.
I have another one:
Impatient people who can't believe they have to wait on line.
Yesterday i was in Home Depot on 23rd street buying something. Love the Depot.
Anyway, i went to the registers to pay for my purchase. It was about 9 AM so they only had one register open. Couldn't use the self checkout (which I always use) because it was a specialty item that a clerk had to write a reciept for.
No biggie, only two people ahead of me on line.
Of course some pinhead comes up behind me and is livid that he has to wait. He's fourth in line!
He starts harrassing the cashier working the self checkout registers.
"Excuse me, could you open another register?"
The clerk expalined that she was working the self checkout and couldn't open another register at the time
"But there's a line here!" he says.
The people in front of me had five items between them. I had a two dollar item i was going to pay cash for. We're talking a maximum wating time of five minutes here, and this guy was freaking out that he had to wait.
It's New York City. You are going to have to wait on line for everything.
Deal with it.

So many of mine have already been listed. I agree with bad customer service, but I also can't stand bad customers who are just plain nasty to those who are just trying to earn a decent living. Respect goes both ways. You can't expect the cashier to smile and greet you when you have been yakking away on your cell phone the whole time he/she has been ringing up your groceries. I had this regular customer who came through my line all the time and never acknowledged me. One day, I ignored him while I rang up his groceries and he went over to my manager and complained I had an attitude problem  My motto always was "Treat me with respect, I'll respect you. Treat me rudely and I'm giving you The Finger under the counter!" Praise the Lord I no longer work in that line of service! It truly is a thankless job.
I also can't stand parents who either have to micromanage their child's whole life or have no interest in the kid at all. The former needs to get a life of their own and the latter shouldn't have bothered having a kid in the first place.
I also get really annoyed by people who claim educators have it easy. They obviously never walked into a classroom.

Ohhh, I just thought of one.
See. I work in retail, but not during normal business hours.
It REALLY gets my goat when I'm stocking items in an aisle... and when I'm doing so, I notice empty or torn-open packages [with item still inside] nearby.
WHY do people do this? F*CK YOU. That is STEALING. And for torn-open packages with items still inside, F*CK YOU TOO because that means I have to set it aside to defect it out. Thanks a ****ing lot, ******* customer. I hope someone comes into your house, gets their germs all over your things and steal the rest of your things.
I see this a LOT with cosmetics. Like... Moreso than any other area of the store. Gee, I had no idea makeup was such a valuable commodity.
I record a LOT more empty cosmetic packages than any other items at work. Ugh.
Alsoooo.
Customers who put an item in their cart, go to another area of the store and decide there that they don't want an item so they take it out of their cart there and put it on the shelf there. Seriously... DON'T. Hold it until you get to checkout. Tell the cashier there that you do not want the item and they will set it aside to be put away later. It's not hard. Bonus... You still get to be a lazy ass. YAY! Win-win!
I have a story about that, actually. One night at work, I was putting away a bunch of nose sprays. At the time this happened, they were way up on the very top shelf, which was a good 6 or 7 feet off the ground. I could feel something stuck up there, so I went to get a stepladder to retrieve whatever was stuck back there. When I got on the stepladder and looked, it was TWO TUBES OF MAYBELLINE LIP GLOSS. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. You mean to tell me that you didn't want it so much, you FLUNG the lip glosses up there? (it was on a REALLY high shelf.) Not cool at all.

That bugs the crap out of me, too, and I don't even work in a supermarket. It really bugs me when it's something perishable. I'll be in the cereal aisle and see a pot roast sitting on the shelf, at room temperature. This is one of the reasons food prices keep rising!! The thing is, it's usually at Wal-Mart where the meat department in on the side of the store, if you're going down each aisle, you're bound to be near the meat department. Put the pot roast away if you don't want it!! Or worse, is when I see something perishable put on a shelf by the check-out area. Like PZelda said, why can't they just give it to the cashier? Even if you realized you can't afford it, you don't have to say that, just say you decided you didn't want it.
You know what though, if I see something on the shelf that non-perishable, I will go and put it on the right shelf. That's just me.
It also bugs me when I see that something has fallen off the shelf and people keep walking by it while it lays on the floor. I guess they figure it's not their job to pick it up. I'll pick it up though.

I had to work last night through this morning.
I was putting away & zoning bandages -- zoning basically means to tidy up the area. You guys would be surprised at how messy bandages can get, and the fact that other employees who were there BEFORE me didn't even bother to zone the stuff *on* the shelves (they just give more of a damn about zoning the *hanging* items. Stupid asses.).
Anyway. I was zoning bandages. I peeked into the back of the shelves, and guess what I found?
A. PIZZA. PAN.
A PIZZA PAN with the BANDAGES?? Wut. And how did the DAYTIME employees COMPLETELY miss the FIFTEEN INCH PIZZA PAN?? I swear. The overnight team with me & the other employees are better than the daytime team. Probably because of no customers being around. Still. There are about 3x-4x more employees on daytime than nighttime so I don't really get it.
Even before I worked in retail, I CARED about **** like that. I would either put the item back (if I was still in the area) or hand it to the cashier at checkout. Sheesh.

Video poker/lottery machines. Those things are evil, especially for people who easily succumb to addictions. I haven't been to a bar in months just so as not to be tempted by those damn things. Unfortunately it's getting to the point where they're putting them everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing them in supermarkets within the next couple years at the rate they're going now. People who smoke in restaurants are nasty..I hate how it is separated, smoking and non-smoking section. All restaurants should be smoke free, with smoke free booths. If you wanna light a cigarette or have a smoke (and possibly even a pancake with that ), then take it outside I say. I don't need blunt ashes in my spaghetti or smoke in my soda.
Our whole town is like that now...it may even be the whole state. I like it, but I think the no smoking in bars thing is dumb.

OMG... one day last week we went to Target for something. Not sure what it was - just that it was a quick trip. My mom finds a parking spot and pulls up into it. I see TWO carts next to her car. One of 'em is that stupid kid-friendly cart where it allows seating for two kids. I went, "Oh, COME ONNNNNNN!!!!" :wallbang
When we were finished at Target and came back to her car, the carts were gone. Ha.

Also when you tell someone that you dont share their tastes in music, movies, etc. and they go out of their way to prove that you are wrong and try to convert you to their tastes.
This can apply a lot in terms of television series. If you are a fan of the cleaner comedies of the past, ("Mary Tyler Moore," for instance), and you indicate the same to someone who likes the '90's-current comedies ("Friends," "Seinfeld," etc.), wouldn't it be kind of stupid for them to try to convert you to "Friends" and "Seinfeld"? By that same token, it would be equally stupid for me to try to convert you to the cleaner stuff if you enjoy "Friends" and "Seinfeld." This is why, at least when it comes to television series, I am a "live-and-let-live" type of guy-- I don't have to like what you like, and you don't have to like what I like. It works both ways.

-people who think its a sin to like b/w or old movies. i watch my portable dvd player at work on 3rd shift and i always endure comments everyday about my movie selections. "oh you like b/w movies huh?" or "you like old movies?" and always get a smirk or a chuckle. so annoying. my sister is the worst offender - "why do you like b/w (or old) movies for?" i don't, the movies i like just happen to be b/w or old. i enjoy them. i think the plots are better, i think the stories have more meaning and sentiment, i think the actors are more dedicated and respectable. i don't enjoy movies that rely on special effects, violence, nudity and all these other gimmicks to keep you interested. sick of explaining my choices!
- people who don't know what some old movies are! i'm not saying be an expert but atleast be knowledgable of the classics! even before i saw gone with the wind i knew what it was and who it starred! i've had people not know what 'a christmas carol' was or who even wrote it!

People who smoke cigarettes around someone they know is trying to quit. I smoked cigarettes for a year and a half, and gave them up a month ago and haven't touched one since (I don't want to be a smoker for my whole life obviously!) but some of my friends were inconsiderate of this.
Bosses/managers who take the customer's side over their employees even when the customer is WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Gay/bisexual/lesbians who think every injustice that involves them is somehow related to their orientation. I'm bisexual and I don't go around claiming "OHH YOU JUST HATE ME BECAUSE IM NOT STRAIGHT". Same with minority groups who claim they are being discriminated against when they're clearly not. People who want to be treated as equals need to show this with their actions, not just their words. Claiming you're being discriminated against when you're not creates division and not unity.
Brazilian Portuguese. As a speaker of Portuguese from Portugal, I seriously can't listen to Brazilian Portuguese, it's "horrivel" e "feio". "Banheiro" should not mean bathroom and the letter d should be pronounced as such and not like its a g (bom dia should sound like that and not 'bon gia' ). But I do admit I feel this way because I've been hearing from my mother all my life that correct Portuguese comes from Portugal only. A related annoyance, when people assume all Portuguese speakers come from Brazil. Look at the name of the language, it's called that for a reason :)

Two big ones...
There used to be this group of people on my bus going to and from work. It was one of those articulated busses (with the accordian-thing in the middle so the bus can be longer and make turns). I would always sit up front and this group of people were SO LOUD that you could hear them all the way from the back of the bus. Fortunately, (Knocking on wood here!) they no longer ride and the back of the bus is fairly quiet. I even sit there now.
But this has morphed into a whole new pet peeve. I cannot stand it when people talk on the bus (and then I feel guilty if I do it!). Even if it's in a normal tone of voice because I can hear every word. Same thing goes for cell phone conversations. I hate when people are talking on their cell phone around me.
Secondly, I can't stand being in a restaurant and sitting next to a table of people who are so loud that you can hear their conversation.
I don't know. These things used to never bother me. Maybe my ears are getting more sensitve in my "old age"!!

I didn't know they did that. I do wish they didn't do remakes of old TV Shows or when one has a good movie or remake, they should leave it be.
Like the show Leave It To Beaver, it ended after the 6th season. They made a series out of this in the early '80's. I heard it wasn't that good and that maybe they shouldn't have made that series.

Yeah, I can't stand being stared at... I don't know why but it has been bothering me lately. Kids sometimes do it too and it annoys me more but they are kids.
The other day when I was working, I was washing my hands in the women's bathroom and a customer and her daughter came out of the cubicle and went to the sink, there are two sinks.
So her daughter is in front of her as she is near the sink but staring at me!! The mom is pushing her sleeves back so the daughter can wash her hands without getting her sleeves wet. Then she waits for a few minutes then asks the daughter, what are you doing? Then the daughter snaps out of her staring and washes her hands but I started to leave when the daughter snapped out of it...
Today on the bus a lady was staring at me for a few seconds then she would turn and look forward. I was like across the aisle but kinda behind her so I could tell if she was looking my way. I was getting annoyed by then since she would do it a few times if I'm talking to the driver.. grrr...

Another driving complaint.
Yesterday on my drive to work, it was clear, the sun was shining, there was no ice or snow on the road. So naturally I ran into all sorts of people who were driving waaaaay under the speed limit as if it was a blizzard. ohno: Nothing hit until at least 10 hours later. IDIOTS.
Yet during actual winter driving conditions, people are speeding all around me. These pukes should just have their licenses taken away permanently.

People who treat you as an automatic enemy if you're not a member of their political party.
Angry, nasty, bitter people who take their unhappiness out on others.
I hate how companies are making products smaller and think customers don't notice. Just another sneaky way of raising the price.
Being attacked for your opinion.
People who overuse graphics on message boards. It gets so old.
People who don't listen. This includes friends, doctors, anyone.
Overly sarcastic people.
People who don't fully read e-mails. It's not easy for me to sit and type a lot these days because of my neck problem. It's so obvious when someone gives an e-mail a half read.
People who don't say thank you. I don't need to be overthanked, but for God's sake, say thank you. Two simple words.
People who are rude to service staff in restaurants and stores, for no reason, just because they can. I ended a friendship because she was so nasty to people in stores and while eating out. I couldn't take it anymore.
Unfounded allegations of racism or homophobia.
I hate when people PM me with a request and act like I'm a computer. No hello, please or thank you. I don't need or want a book, but a simple pleasantry would be nice. Hi Janice would suffice.
People who just drop off links in threads with no explanation. I never open them.
Sore winners.
I hate when cashiers chat to each other or the bagger in the grocery store while ringing up my order. That's my money they're handling. I often ask them politely to focus on my order.

-When people are yakking away on their cellphones while driving. My state, as well as others I'm sure, have laws against cell phone use while driving. Seems like they just don't care.
