I'm scared.

A group of scientists studied it over and decided there is no basis for any conceivable threat. *shrug*
If they're wrong, it would at least be a pretty cool way to go!

Isn't "The Sun" about the same as the "National Enquirer"? I don't think we have anything to worry about.

That would be kind of cool! I could spend the next nine days doing wild and crazy things.

I've been hearing rumblings about the CERN project in Switzerland for the past several years, along with the HAARP project in Alaska. Both supposedly have top-secret, end-of-the-world potential!

All I can say is that if the world is going to end, it had better not happen while I'm on vacation over the next two weeks.

I don't think the world will end. I do, however, think this project is a HUGE waste of money! How about using that money to fund research for treating and curing different diseases? Or finding a cheaper, cleaner alternative to oil?

Don't worry. I won't let the world end! :)

If the world does end then, at least it will take TV Land down with it. So it's not ALL bad. ;)

I thought TV Land showed good stuff?
I have TV Land to thank for being introduced to what are now two of my favourite shows, Cheers and Family Ties.

The history of TV Land is great. It's the current state it's in that's bad... and only getting worse.

I don't live in the US so I don't really know the current state - is it not showing a fair mix of programmes?
I know it's for the older sitcoms and that some people might not feel that 80s shows belong there...personally, I feel an extension into the 1980s is okay, perhaps with more of an emphasis on earlier decades. As I said, though, Cheers and Family Ties are two of my favourite shows, so I'd like TVLand to air them (not that I'd be able to watch of course.) I think they still show Cheers don't they? I know they haven't shown FT for some time.
It's a shame they don't show Taxi.

Next month, for their primetime block they're showing Scrubs, 3rd Rock from the Sun and then brand new reality shows ("TV Land Originals" as they call them). Plus they show movies now. It's not the station it used to be. There's a thread about this in the General Discussion Board you can visit to get all the details.

I'd say, go ahead and mail that rent check, and throw in a nice bonus, too. If the world does end before your check hits the bank, at least you'll make a new best friend....

LOL. My friend claimed she kept on having dreams that the world would end on May 15th this year. Didn't come true, obviously. :happyface
And it better not happen anytime soon - I'm jetting off to Oklahoma next week!

Wow... I actually saw a report about this on the news this morning. A bit late, seeing the thing is turned on tomorrow! They interviewed a scientist who said that if the process created a black hole/vortex, they would be very small. Problem is, wouldn't you say most black holes started out small before growing into their enormous sizes? Oh, well... I guess we'll see soon enough!

I mailed my rent check in yesterday.
No bonus.

Yeah, no black holes, no tear in the space time continuum, no cosmic cataclysms of any kind.
What a rip off!

EPIC FAIL.
Of course, the full-power atom-smashing doesn't begin until next month. The full testing runs began today.
Here's a thought to chew on: I doubt the world will end the first time this is tried. It's too important to make the show look good when all the press is there. No, an accident would come when no one was paying attention.
My money is that the LHC destroys us all on December 21, 2012. ;)
