I don't know how to say this...especially since I made such a big deal the other day, but I have utterly made an @$$ of myself. Over the past couple of days, I have been scared out of my mind. So has he. We talked this morning and we realized that it was more than pre-wedding jitters. We realized we didn't know each other nearly well enough; that we were only considering marriage because we were lonely. So, we've called the wedding off and we're just staying friends now and slowing this thing WAY down. We realized we were going WAY too fast. We are staying friends though and we'll see what happens. I do want to thank all you guys though, for being so wonderful and all your best wishes and stuff. I'm so sorry it ended up being a false alarm. :o I am really embarrassed, but anyway, you all were so wonderful and thoughtful and I really, REALLY appreciate it. :)

LoveMrsG (still free and unattached, SO guys...LOL!)

Awww...I'm so sorry it didn't work out the way you wanted, but I am very glad you were both able to realize you were rushing things and agreed to put things on hold so there are no hard feelings between the two of you.

Good luck. You never know what will happen next!

I'm really sorry that it didn't work out. Perhaps in the future, things will change. Too fast isn't always good.

Agreed. Take this time to rest and get to know who YOU are before committing yourself to someone...but it was smart to realize what you were doing and before you made a major mistake. :bighug:

I agree, it is never a wise move to get married right away. That is a commitment that should be made when you are 100% sure.

It's true Monika. I've found that relationships that catch fire too quickly, often crash and burn just as quickly.

I hope you two can still be married

Hey, FactsFan, is that Lisa Whelchel, Mindy Cohn and Kim Fields from The
Facts Of Life and Miss Piggy and Janice from the Muppets in your avatar?

Yeah Lee, that is who I had in my avatar. I actually just changed it because some people were telling me they didn't recognize Kim and thought she looked like a man. I figured it was time for a new one anyway!

I'm sorry to hear that the wedding is off, but I think you made the right decison. It's good that you listened to your heart instead of plunging right in. I'm sure things will work out and please don't feel badly at all. You gave no false information when you announced your engagment. In fact, I think it was one of the smartest things I've ever heard anyone do! I'm glad you are both still friends and who knows what the future will bring?

I'm really sorry to hear this. :( Still, taking some time and getting to know each other better might be a good idea in the long run. You both might discover that you both truly do love one another and can still get married in the end.
