Who would you most want to meet, and what would you say to them?

As for myself, I would LOVE to meet Jerry Seinfeld someday. He was in Seattle last year promoting "Bee Movie" but he was only meeting with the media. :(

I have this feeling that if I were ever to meet him that I would just start gushing like crazy, telling him how much I love his stand up and his TV show, blah blah blah. I'm sure he would think I am crazy.

I have a tendency to say really stupid things when I met celebs, so I don't know how I would handle this.

I wouldn't mind meeting Jason, Julia or Michael either. I would love to tell Jason that I loved his stint on "Monk". He was great in that episode. Kinda nerdy but completely unlike George.

I think Jerry would be the one I would want to meet the most. Everything I have read about him tells me that he's really friendly and enjoys meeting people. I also read that he doesn't mind if he gets recognized on the street. I definitely would not approach him if I saw him with his family or whatever but in a "controlled" environment, it might be okay.

Anyone else have a secret fantasy of meeting someone? It could even be Newman!

Oh, a note about Wayne Knight (Newman). I was watching something on one of the Seinfeld DVD's and he said that people come up to him all the time and say "Helloooooooo Newman." God, that must get old!

I think I'd like to meet Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I've seen her in interviews, and she seems like such a down-to-earth gal - someone you'd like to go shopping with. :D

Really? The only thing I've ever seen where he was slated as being rude was on TMZ.com. He and his wife were clearly leaving their apartment and were getting into a car. They were all dressed up and this cameraman got in their face. Jerry just told the person that they were in a hurry, but it didn't look to me like he was being rude.

However, I might be a little hesitant toward meeting him for fear that something like this would happen. As I said before I'd rather do it in a "controlled" environment, meaning that it was pre-arranged (like backstage after a show or something) instead of just a meeting on the street. I have met celebrities that have turned out be rude (Melissa Gilbert being one of them), and it just shatters my image of them. I'd hate for that to happen with someone I really liked, like Jerry Seinfeld.

This is completely ridiculous, but I've been thinking about these two comments and for some reason I got really bothered by them.

Nothing against Chocolate Moose or 70's Show Watcher of course, but I just can't fathom why a celebrity would be mean to a fan! I could see if the celebrity was with their family or on their own time, but at an "arranged meeting" it makes no sense! You would think that they would be grateful that someone appreciates their work.
I doubt that I would ever have the chance to meet Jerry, but I would hope that I would have a more positive experience. The only thing that comes of a celebrity being mean to a fan is that their reputation is tarnished; at least in the eyes of that fan. And chances are the fan is going to say something to other people. We see these actors/actresses on screen and form this image of them. And then of course we expect them to be the same (or better) in person.
It's weird, though... whenever I meet a celebrity, they usually look exactly like they do on TV, but there's this "glow" about them. Kind of like you're seeing them in 3D (which you are). It's like they are on your TV screen and suddenly they are standing right in front of you! It's really an amazing feeling!

I really just want to write to Jerry; I see no harm in that, really. If he reads my letter; great. If not, well at least I tried. I would think that someone would read it! If I really like a celebrity, I like to tell them how I feel about their work. Most of them that I've met are very appreciative.

As for Jerry in person, I can totally see him losing it if someone approached him on the street in NYC if he was with his family. I'd probably be upset too. But sometimes, just a brief meeting with someone, if they're nice enough, can make you feel like you're flying afterwards!

Sorry if I've gone overboard. I just wanted to get that off my mind!

From what I understand, Jerry in real life is a very private person. I don't think he would be rude to a fan (like shouting or yelling insults, or whatever), but he might be a bit distant. I think "aloof" would be the best word to describe Jerry Seinfeld in real life. Of course, if it's in a "controlled" environment, like backstage or at an autograph-signing session, he would be in his "showman" mode, so I'm sure everything would go well. ;)

Of the 4 main Seinfeld characters, the only one that I think might be rude to fans is Mr. Michael Richards. ;)

I'd also love to meet Mr. Jerry Stiller (Frank Costanza) and his lovely wife, Anne Meara. (Did Anne Meara ever guest on Seinfeld?) SERENITY NOW!!!!

I saw him on TV at a promo for "Bee Movie" (sadly it wasn't in Seattle, or I would have been there in a heartbeat!) and there was a huge crowd of people in this movie theatre lobby. He was shaking hands and signing autographs, so I'm sure you are right. I wouldn't really want to meet him unless it was a "controlled environment" anyway. I'd feel REALLY awkward!

Thanks, though. I feel much better now! God only knows why I was worried about it!
