I've mentioned this in another thread, but I recently read a book called Sein-Off... The Last Days of Seinfeld.. Basically it was a book of awesome pictures from the shooting of the last episode along with a bunch of quotes from Julia, Jerry, Jason and Michael. Some of the pictures toward the end were very moving and almost had me in tears.

So that being said, I wonder what Seinfeld fans on this board thought of the last episode. I haven't seen it in a while, but I thought it was brilliant that they ended the show with the exact same line that "The Seinfeld Chronicles" started with back in 1989.

Here's the line from the first episode ("Good News, Bad News")
JERRY: Seems to me, that button is in the worst possible spot. [talking about George's shirt] The second button literally makes or breaks the shirt, look at it: it's too high! It's in no-man's-land, you look like you live with your mother.

And here's the last line from the last episode ("The Finale")

Jerry: See now, to me, that button is in the worst possible spot.
George: Really?
Jerry: Oh yeah. The second button is the key button. It literally makes or breaks the shirt. Look at it, it's too high, it's in no-man's land.
George: Haven't we had this conversation before?
Jerry: You think?
George: I think we have.
Jerry: Yeah, maybe we have.

I liked the final episode especially because it had everyone in it; from The Soup Nazi to the Low Talker. What a great way to bring everyone together!
I'll admit that I didn't think it was one of their best episodes, but the more I see it the more I liked it.

Now another question... and maybe a little embarrassing...
Did any of you devoted Seinfeld fans cry when the show ended? I have to admit that although I didn't cry, I did have a pretty heavy heart after the camera panned away from the four of them in the jail cell. And then when they showed Jerry being pulled away from the crowd in the final FINAL scene... well, that was hard to watch (even though that whole sequence was hysterical!), because it meant that it was really over
So... any thoughts?

I remember liking it when it first aired. I haven't seen it in ages, but I still do have the tape. I'll have to watch it again and let you know!!!! :D

The last episode was good, but is not one of my favorites. It's cool that they brought back all those memorable guest-stars though, and it's a nice touch that it ends with the very first lines from the very first episode.

The thing with final episodes is that they are never the funniest or anything like that, for any tv series. They are meant to provide a nice touch and emotional ending that makes us remember what made us like the show through the years. The last episode definitely does that with the final quote and showing all the guest stars who played minor, but, important roles throughout the series.

I liked the tribute right before the last episode aired with the Green Day song.
I think that was better than the final episode itself.

It was ok, not a classic Sein ep, but good none the less.

I love that song, and still cannot figure out why it's called "Good Riddance!" But the fact that they used it in the clip show beforehand made that song a classic (to me anyway). The lyrics are perfect, but I can't listen to it now without thinking about Seinfeld! Wonder if one of the cast members picked it out or if it was just picked at random for something to play?

I always thought that song was called "Time of Your Life". That's what it was called when I downloaded it, strange.

Everybody must watch this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsKNvGeNKyE&feature=related

It should be, but every time I tried to look up the song by typing in "Time of Your Life" it would come up as "Good Riddance!"

Yes, that song was pretty popular in 1998. I graduated from high school less than a month after the last episode of Seinfeld aired, so I always associate it with graduation.
