Two Canadian police officers have been credited with saving the life of Van Halen singer David Lee Roth, after he suffered a severe allergic reaction.

The rocker reportedly was pulled over on a stretch of highway in Oakland, Ontario, in Canada, last month. When officers approached the vehicle, they realized the star was in anaphylactic shock.

Roth has an allergy to nuts and was suffering a severe reaction after coming into contact with a contaminated substance.

The officers called an ambulance and kept Roth calm until paramedics arrived on the scene, according to Blabbermouth.net.

Constable Chris Thompson admits he didn't realize that he was dealing with a famous rock star when he attended to the crisis.

He says, "At the time I wasn't star struck, I was just trying to help him.

The guy stuck out like a sore thumb. He was wearing a little silk scarf and flashy clothing -- it's not something you see in Oakland too often."

WOW!!! And with a peanut allergy like me too!! :(
I wonder if he was carrying an epipen with him...they didn't mention it in the story, so I'm guessing not.
Again, it's a jolt to those of us with food allergies or allergies in general that we always have to be very careful what we eat/touch, etc.
Glad he's okay!!

I'm glad to hear that Dave is okay. I got to see VH with Dave last October and this past May, and I'm happy to say that the mas has still got it. :D

David Lee Roth allergic to nuts? That's bananas!

Earlier this week, a Canadian paper ran interviews with two police officers who claimed the Van Halen star went into anaphylactic shock behind the wheel after eating nuts. (They said they then phoned paramedics, who rushed the singer to the hospital.)

But Roth insists it never happened.

"I was in Canada only from July first through the fourth for a performance at the Quebec City Summer Festival. I had no encounters or incidents with the police," he said in a statement released Thursday. "The only thing I'm allergic to is criticism."
