What a daring thing to do for the station, local TV is coming back in a big way as the cable networks continue to play "monkey see, monkey do".....far and away my vote would be for the all-time worse sitcom (but I liked it in a bad/good way) would be................drum roll please............

MADAMES PLACE! you either know it or you don't!

Even if nobody lived in Houston, it still would be noteworthy to know about this. What if they air Sanford Arms or Checking In? You could find someone on this board to tape it for you. Then you would be ecstatic that I posted this.

Why would anyone want to waste their time watching bad TV? If I wanted an unpleasant viewing experience I would still be watching TVL

Well, at least they're showing actual TV shows...or planning to.

I think it would be fun to see short-lived sitcoms from the seventies and eighties, myself. It would be interesting to see if shows like Working Stiffs (Jim Belushi and Michael Keaton) were any good, as I vaguely remember watching the few episodes aired.

Hell, they could have a three night retrospective on McLean Stevenson's post-M*A*S*H career!

:yeahthat I see your point, but a lot of those bad shows have a LOT of unintentional humor - like Pink Lady & Jeff.

Hell, I even went so far as to rent the DVD of The Brady Bunch Hour with Fake Jan and those bad musical numbers. The best part about it is the interview/commentary from Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen.

Hey now, please dont hate The Brady Bunch Hour. It was only on once a month. A nice colorful fun show when the Bradys were still good looking.

I blame the Kroffts. The actors needed the work and it was a paycheck. I think The Bradys helped kill off the comedy/variety show format. That was when that type of show truly "Jumped The Shark.";)

And I think you're right.

Bob Hope continued to do his yearly specials until he was unable to, but he was the last remnant of those comedy/variety specials. The format was pretty much dead by the early eighties, though Dolly Parton tried to revive it in the mid-eighties.

Wayne Brady tried to revive it at the beginning of this decade...as did Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. We all know how well those efforts turned out.

Let's see, The Hathaways, Ugliest Girl in Town, The Tammy Grimes Show, Grindl and It's About Time would be my picks from the 60s. As for the 80s, pick any syndicated series, especially The Munsters Today, the worst show I've ever seen. Or they could just pick up all of the series Sherwood Schwartz produced.

AES Hudson Street. ;) There are a couple of obscure sitcoms Gregory Sierra was in that I never saw - Zorro & Son from 1983 and Common Law from 1996. Maybe those shows will turn up on this station.

AES Hudson aired for 10 min back in 78 so I don't think that station in Houston will be able to find that show-lol

Has As for me & my house ever aired? It would be the perfect series for the bad sitcom block in Houston.
