It is not yet, but I want to make a new thread for the upcoming projects. Upfront news will come soon.

TV LAND FURTHERS COMMITMENT TO ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING CHANNEL INCREASES PRODUCTION OF ORIGINALS DESIGNED TO APPEAL TO VIEWERS IN THEIR 40'S

PROJECTS FROM BUNIM-MURRAY, GRANADA, RDF USA AND SONY ARE GREENLIT

Los Angeles, CA March 17, 2008 -- TV Land announced today that it has greenlit four pilots as part of its ongoing original programming agenda, it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. The channel, which recently rolled out "High School Reunion" to double digit ratings increases, will continue to rev-up production on programming designed to appeal specifically to viewers in their 40's.

The pilots unveiled by TV Land include:

"First Love, Second Chance" -- gives long-lost sweethearts an opportunity to rekindle their romance -- years later. Whether it is unrequited love or a relationship that ended badly, the couples decide if there's still a romantic link after all these years. "First Love, Second Chance" is produced for TV Land by Granada America Entertainment ("Celeb Fit Club" and "Hell's Kitchen"). Paul Buccieri, Drew Hoegl and Andrew Singer serve as executive producers. (60 Minutes)

"Now or Never" -- Empty nesters are given the chance of a lifetime to open a new chapter in their lives by pursuing careers that they always dreamed ofbut never dared to pursue. In each installment, couples try out their dream jobs, a new place to live and a whole new social scene before making the gut-wrenching decision of which path to follow. "Now or Never" is produced for TV Land by RDF USA ("Wife Swap"). Chris Coelen, Charles Tremayne and Stef Wagstaffe serve as executive producers. (60 Minutes)

"Make My Day" provides a window into one day in the life of an unsuspecting participant. Hidden cameras capture the action as contestants are put through a series of weird coincidences, extraordinary situations and surprise appearances. "What's In The Box?" is produced for TV Land by Bunim-Murray Productions ("Real World," "Road Rules" and "The Simple Life") with Jon Murray serving as the executive producer. (30 Minutes)

"This latest crop of originals reflects the motivation of people in their 40's to tune-in to see programming that is fun, upbeat, uplifting and entertaining and that most of all -- puts them first," stated Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land. "These shows are a perfect complement to our existing slate of originals and continue to underscore our commitment to entertain this underserved audience."

In addition to these pilots, the following is a list of premiere dates for other previously announced original programs.

All I can say is "Who cares?". How about an acquisition of a classic series. Then, it'd be worth it. I'm sick of turning the dial and finding one reality show after the other.

You can see where we are going with this and it's not good news for those folks interested in preserving over the air viewing of classic TV series. The network like so many other other single purpose networks, is moving further and further away from it's original purpose. Remember when music was still on MTV and VH1. Remember Court TV. Remember the Nashville Network. Remember American Movie Classics, BRAVO.

I can see a day in the not to distant future featuring overnight and early morning infomericals, reality tv in prime time and talk show reruns during the day. The only question I have, at what point does TV Land change names?

It has already been explained that TV LAND wouldn't be able to survive as a all classic tv network so the network was forced to make the transition to original programming

I want the old TV Land of ten years ago, not the copycat channel that calls itself "TV Land" now.
If others think that classic TV cannot survive, then how are all the classic TV clips on You Tube gathering so many viewers?

I agree with ya. Here lately in primtime it's been reality show junk & Just Shoot Me. Yuck. I've had to tune into Ion for Mamas Family or Nick at Nite. Tvland needs to dump the newer shows & reality shows now. They are losing viewers like me during the hours they show that mess. We finally got Dish network a few yr's ago so we could watch the old shows but now they're not getting shown as much. YUCK...

I try not to let it bother me anymore because nothing stays the same and everything has to change as we move forward whether it's cable, tv guides, or regular tv to keep up with the times. it's very annoying but i learned to accept it, and just forget i have tVLand as a cable channel

I would seriously just leave and find some other type of television work. I'd have a hard time making more money knowing that the loyal fans who watched and enjoyed my network for years got screwed in favor of demographics BS.

I just hit 40 in January, and nothing that TV Land is adding is interesting to me at all. It just continues to be a network that I no longer watch as much as I used to. It's a shame because TV Land used to be an "always watch" network. Not anymore...:(

What was the downhill point of TV land for you? In my opinion it was 2004

I agree about 2004 being the start of the downhill....and it hit rock bottom in 2005. IMO, the schedule now isn't even as bad as late 2005-early 2006.

I just got TV LAND before it faded away, which was the 2000-2002 era, that was the last best era for the network

I agree also about 2004. I got it in April 2003 and I really wish I had it at home much longer than that. I missed out on some really good stuff.

You missed out on the 2000-2002 era of TV Land and I missed out on the 1996-1999 era of TV Land
