Alright you mooners experts, I have a few questions regarding the christmas episodes, especially for my friend greg.....I was going to buy the MPI christmas DVD which has christmas party & new years party...are these complete? How similar is it to the syndicated 1985 Christmas greetings special which I have recorded off TV Land...but noticed on that special the episodes are heavily edited.....lastly.....I recently found in my extensive archives...A 1985 Showtime christmas episode complete with the animated showtime exclusive jackie gleason open of "Santa & The Bookies", it runs a complete 35 minutes....is this rare, since for syndication I guess it is edited? It is also the same script as it was redone later in the color singing episodes. Hope all that makes sense....I will await the experts answers......also have the 1985 NBC Gleason "lost special retrospective" with original commercials, the complete "You're in The Picture/The Apology", and a very excellent (the best I've seen) of the first 2/2/76 ABC reunion "second honeymoon" with original commercials. Still looking for the abc christmas reunions in very good/excellent quality. teeveecloset@aol.com

I have the MPI release of the Christmas shows on VHS and cannot imagine they were changed for DVD release. The Christmas Party tape contains a scene of Norton bringing in liitle Eddie Hodges, who sings "Walking My Baby Back Home" before Norton scoops him up and takes him to Joe's. This scene was edited from the Season's Greetings From The Honeymooners special.

If you have "Santa & The Bookies" from a Showtime airing, it's complete. They aired all the Lost Episodes unedited..or at least as complete as they were released. I do remember that when "Bookies" was included on the syndicated Season's Greetings show, they edited some of the scene with Ralph and Ed in prison by means of a spin cut. I don't remember a shortened version of the Christmas Party or Santa & the Bookies included in the syndicated package. I think their inclusion in syndication could be limited to the aforementioned holiday special.

In regards to Christmas episodes, I have said this many times before. I remember scrolling through the online listings and according to one of them, WPIX was going to air "Christmas Party" in two parts prior to Christmas in 1997. I don't know if WPIX did air them or not.

I do remember Nick showing Honeymooners Christmas specials for the '95 and '96 season (even though they didn't have the rights to the show at that time, they managed to get the rights to these episodes). I do remember reading the TV Guide and it said that Nick was going to air "Santa & The Bookies". (Here is TV Guide's description: "Ralph becomes a street corner Santa.") I can't recall if Nick aired it in two parts. (It may have been one.)

The Christmas episode also has Frances Langford, and Jackie as a bunch of his characters. The New Years Eve episode has the Dorsey brothers. What a classic.
